I had my shower this weekend, and now I want to wash and organize all the cute clothes we received. What's the concensus on the special baby detergents? I know Dreft is out there, and I've also heard you can just use a regular detergent but can't remember the brand/type. So what are you using? Any recs from the second time mamas?
Re: Which detergent are you washing baby clothes in?
I'll be using Free and Clear detergents - based on what's on sale/cheaper when I need to buy it.
This way I only need to buy one kind of detergent!
If you don't use a baby specific detergent, like Dreft, then just make sure they are "free and clear." Read the labels. They will tell you if they are for sensitive skins. there are multiple brands that carry this kind. All natural is best.
ETA: As someone with sensitive skin. I find liquid is FAR better than powder. For some reason, I break out when I use powder detergents.

Both of my DDs get terrible eczema and their allergist told me it was pointless to use a seperate detergent for just their clothes because their skin will touch everything in the house AND that the super chemical smelly stuff we used to use for our clothes doesn't completely wash out of the washer after each load, so there's still a chance it will transfer to their stuff.
So, we use Free & Clear for everyone and Bounce Clear dryer sheets.
This is what I use now. I'll use Planet or RNG on the diapers. I may eventually change all of our laundry over to one of those for simplicity.
