The having fun after baby post inspired me to post this..
Am I the only weirdo that is looking forward to seeing what I can accomplish with my body after baby? I know it's going to be hard but I want to prove to myself that I can loose the baby weight and look semi normal again LOL
Re: Working out after Baby
You can!!!! I'm going to
I have my goals in place (even though others think I'm NUTS and have them set too high) - as long as we just think like we can, we can!
No. I'm looking forward to it also. This time I know it's going to be harder. With my first I was hardly showing and only gained 12 lbs. I was also more toned. This time I have a big ole belly, have gained plenty of weight and have hardly any muscle tone anymore. I'm looking forward to being toned and tanned lol.
Oh, no, I'm so looking forward to working out again. (I'm terrible, I haven't since just before I got my BFP). My goal is to be back to something similar to pre-pg when dh gets back from a year long deployment he's leaving for this summer.
LO is going to daycare at the Y, so there is no excuse for me not to work out. I'll be at the Y twice a day.
Hubbs already offered to watch baby when he gets off work so that I can go to the gym.
My old base used to have a daycare in the gym, so I could just bring baby with me, but not here
.
I will probably be taking baby to Stroller Strut class this summer.
And obviously dieting.
I think I can do it, I just don't know how long it will take.
Yes please, I think I'll cry from happiness if/when this happens and I really hope it does. My arms have become jiggly and dimply and they have never looked like this before. It's grossing me out LOL
me! me! me!
Lol I want to get my toned body back soo bad! *sigh*
After I had my DD I worked out and I lost all my baby weight and was wearing a bikini by summertime. I'm interested to see how long it will take this time to get my body back!
I'm hoping I can drop all the baby weight just by sitting around breastfeeding again. That was pretty nice.
I will have to do something about my ab muscles though. Or resign myself to a flabby stomach for life. I'll probably pick the second option.
Yes, but I'm not just talking about uterine involution in the first few weeks. Your uterus should go back to its normal size by 6 weeks postpartum, no matter how you feed your baby. Milk production uses up a ton of calories--it actually takes more calories than pregnancy itself. As long as you are producing milk in any significant amount, you are burning calories.
ETA Pumping does not always work as well as nursing in terms of removing milk from the breast and stimulating more milk production. Some mothers who pump a lot end up having a hard time maintaining enough milk supply because pumps are just not as efficient as babies. So if you pump a lot, you may not be producing quite as much milk as a mother who is mostly nursing, and then you won't be burning as many calories either.
Unless you're like me and you eat yourself out of house and home and actually gain weight while breastfeeding
Got it, thank you.

I'm kind of looking forward to a guilt-free couple months off of working out at all.
Then I do want to get back to it. I kind of want to push my weight lifting, and we'll be switching to a gym with childcare, so I'll have access to better equipment. That should be great.

I stopped working out after the nausea started, around 6 weeks. I am so ready to get back on weight watchers and to get a better body than I had before.
Looking forward to walks in the park (and in the mall after the good ol' Georgia Summer heat hits in...uh...May?) with LO and hooping again.
I am signed up for a half marathon the 1st week of August. (I have run 2 before and am currently still running). Something concrete like that works well for me and I am excited for the challenge.
Wow! I thought about signing up for one in the fall, but have already talked myself out of it. I'll revisit it in July after seeing how I feel. I'
I am terrified of what my body is going to look like after this and how I'm going to cope. I know it's going to be a rough go for me mentally until I feel like I have my old body back. So, that said... I'm definitely looking forward to working out and feeling like I'm in control of my body again.
This is so true. I had a very difficult time keeping my supply up once DD reached 6 months due to pumping. I eventually threw in the towel at 8 months.
Were you just pumping or BF and pumping?
I was doing C25K too and I was doing so well- even went back to the gym after m/c in June.... then I got tendinitis and my second BFP and was told not to run for 8 weeks. Never even thought about starting again after the tendinitis was better- I was so tired.
I'm hoping to do the C25K again and do a 5k in late summer/early fall.
I'm running a half in the fall and want to try my first full next March so I'll be training with a group probably starting in the fall. I also plan on swimming alot this summer and Bikram yoga to tighten up.
I'm also going to be going back to Weight Watchers as soon as I can (maybe after 2-3 weeks). 2nd+ time moms, is that too soon?
I was never thin before I had got pregnant, but I wore a size 10 when DH and I met, I would LOVE to be back into my 10's or even my smaller 12's.
I am most worried about finding the time to work out. I know it's that first month (of working out) that is hardest, but once it becomes routine then it just seems normal. Normally I would start off by walking, but it will be 100 degrees in Texas, not perfect walking weather!!
For now I am walking the dog 2.5 - 3 miles a day hoping that it will ease me into post workouts a little better!
Ditto! I'm planning on going on TONS of walks with the LO and our dog. I also have already talked with DH about watching the baby for me so I can get to the gym a couple times a week. I definitly need to look good by the end of September for the wedding I'm in on October 1st. The dresses are strapless and short so they show a whole lot of skin!
BFP #1 9/7/10, EDD 5/14/11, Violet born 5/27/11.

BFP #3 10/6/12, EDD 6/16/12., Matilda born 6/17/13.
I am the same way. I was in the best shape of my life after my daughter was born. I was circuit training and running. I felt great. This pregnancy has been hard. I have been working out but nothing like I used to. I also am looking forward to getting back into things, but it does take time. I can't wait to run again, but will ease into it.

hell no. I can't wait to get back in the gym...and neither can my trainer. I was pretty pi$$ed when I had to stop at 6 months. Thinking about trying to find a pool membership (temporary) somewhere for these last 7 weeks.
Drove past the LA Boxing place today...thinking about doing that post-birth too (it looks really fun, and it kicks some major a$$!).
