Contractions...but not feeling them

I was in L&D last week b/c my blood pressure went up (I normally have very low BP, which is why they sent me to the hospital).  Everything is fine and my BP was back to my normal with 30 mins of arriving.  But they still kept me there for another 3 hours!  The doctor said I was having contractions the whole time I was hooked up to the NST machine.  Though I never felt them, I never even felt cramping!  Just curious if anyone else has experienced anything else like this.  I'm worried I might go into labor and not even realize it!

    I had this same thing happen with my DS#1.  I went in for my appt. had high bp they then sent me to l&d (for 3 nights) was told I was having contractions that were almost off the chart and I wasn't feeling any of them.  That was when I was 30 weeks and I lasted until 38 weeks.  I felt every single true labor contraction.  Trust me you will know you just have to listen to your body and go in if you think you need to.

    I honestly don't like those machines.  When I got induced with DD I had two internals before we discussed inserting the cervadil, but after TWO internals that monitor was saying I was having consistent contractions and the OB said he could't insert the cervadil until my contractions were more spaced out.  I sat there for 5 HRS feeling NOTHING before the even started my induction.  Then when I woke up the next morning the nurse told me I was having steady contractions all night long.  I'm sorry, but if I can't feel it then they aren't productive enough contractions even if that machine is picking up some sort of tightening..and after all of those consistent contractions they said I was having I still between 1-2 cm after 12 hrs.

    I was monitored with DS after a car accident and was having consistent contractions but I wasn't feeling them either.  Believe me, when you actually go into labor your will know.  The little contractions you weren't feeling would not be enough to birth a baby.

    I went into L&D for some severe back pains (OB wanted to make sure it wasn't kidney related since I had a UTI at the time) at 32 or 33 weeks. I was contracting consistently and strongly enough the whole time I was on the monitors they ended up administering meds to stop the contractions. I didn't feel a darn thing the whole time.

    I went in for a c/s at 39 weeks with DS#1 and was told that I was having contractions, but I couldn't feel a thing.  Sounds pretty normal and I think you'll feel the real thing!!!

    Yesterday I was hooked up to monitors at the hospital for about 2hrs before my ECV and I was having a crazy amount of contractions that I couldn't feel either. I share the same worries with you! But now that I started to feel them and I talked to my OB about it I'm sure I will know when it's really happening.

    I went to L&D for a sharp pain in my back that I assumed was a kidney infection (tests were inconclusive, they gave me antibiotics anyway to be safe).  Of course they put me on the monitor, and the nurse said I was having consistent contractions, 5-7 minutes apart! The only thing I felt was what I assumed was Allie's baby bootie pushing right at the top of my uterus.  Nurse told me to let her know next time I had one - when I felt that same feeling again, I told her, "If that's IT, then it's happening again."  Apparently that was a contraction.  So now I have the same worries you do.  Everyone keeps saying I'll know when they are "real" - but still a bit disconcerting when the nurse seemed to think the ones I already had were "real" and I had no clue they were going on!

    I seriously had the exact same thing...typical low bp and it spiked and was hooked up to monitors  for what seemed like forever...they said i was having contractions (about 1 1/2 weeks before i had my little girl) but i did not feel those at all.  When I had my daughter my water broke and I did not have any contractions until well over an hour after that I could actually feel....but then they came on strong and there was NO doubt that I was in labor.  She came quickly for a first child once i could feel contractions...my dr wasn't happy that i waited to go to the hospital until i was in labor...if your water breaks...call your dr and get to the hospital :)
