Josephine - Love it or Hate it?

The past few days I keep coming back to this name - do you love it or hate it? Our last name is pronounced Al-May-Da. If we have a boy, DH really wants to name him Joseph after FIL, and I actually like Josephine for a girl a lot more than I like Joseph for a boy! I also like the nickname options - especially Josie. It would probably be:
Josephine Brooke
Josephine Diana
or
Josephine Pearl
...Thoughts?

I like it too, just make SURE you aren't going to use Joseph for a boy later. That would be a bad sibset.

I love it! I have a niece Josephine and she goes by Josie. So cute, classic and timeless!
And I like Josephine Brooke the best I think...with Josephine Pearl in 2nd. With a longer first name I prefer a shorter middle name.

Josephine Pearl is my favorite combo that you listed, though I like Josephine Diana too. Brooke is NMS but it isn't bad.

Love it - always make me think of Jo from Little Women, who is an awesome female character in literature and a great role model of a strong young woman for a little girl.
I personally like Josephine Diana the best since they are both classic names and match well. I think Brooke sounds odd with it because I tend to think of Brooke as a very 80's name which seems odd with Josephine which is much more late 1800's early 1900's in style.

Josephine Pearl for sure. Brooke is nice too! I am biased to Josephine but everyone we tell her name to absolutely loves it (or they do a good job of pretending).
We call her Josie, not Jo.
We have an italian last name that is similar sounding to yours, it sounds so good. I wasn't 100% for Josephine at first but now I absolutely love it!

I love Josephine but unfortunately it was vetoed for our LO by my DH. As for middle names Brooke is my favorite followed closely by Pearl.
I love Josephine! It's such a beautiful, classic name.
I love it and have recently begun considering using it for a girl if we have one. My grandmother is Josephine so it has some meaning for me as well...IWe do plan to use Joseph for a boy as well so we'd have either Josephine (Josie) Rae or Joseph Raymond.
