if you used the angelcare monitor come in please!

I saw that you have to put some sort of board under the mattress for it to sit flat on... what did you use? I don't want to use anything too big that will raise the mattress. Thanks!!

Also, did you use it in your bassinett/pack in play when your baby was a newborn sleeping next to you or just in their crib?

Edit: do you use a board that takes up the entire crib or just a small board a little bigger then sensor?

  • We have a Pottery Barn Kids crib and it has a solid base so no need to put a board under it. If your crib only has wire supporting the mattress then you would need a board. Just go to home depot and tell them. They'll be able to cut the wood to the size you need to fit in the crib. DS slept in his crib from day one so sorry no help with the pack and play question. We really do love our angel care monitor though!

  • We just used one of those thin boards with the holes in it and it worked fine. Didn't use it in pack n play
  • We used a 12x12 thin ceramic tile we had in our garage.  Sounds odd, but I was going to get a thin board to replace it with, but the tile worked, so I never have.  We put it in her co-sleeper when she was in that, and now it's under her crib mattress.

  • My husband measured our crib and cut a thin piece of board to fit under the entire mattress. It did not raise the bed. We did not use it in the pack and play when she was in our room.

  • The instructions that come with the monitor will tell you what size and how thick the board should be (it's not very thick). Sorry I can't remember the exact measurements right now.

  • We went to home depot and had a piece of plywood cut to fit between the bedskirt and crib mattress. I think its 1/4 inch thick...I think, The instructions tell you and it doesn't raise the mattress.

I put DS in the crib from day 1, so thats the only place I used it.
