Yes, according to yumkid.com who thinks McDonald's is better than Gerber graduates, you better buy formula that isn't cow protein based unless you want to predispose your child to obesity. Oh and there is a recipe for baklava using frozen puff pastry sheets! Doesn't she know how horrible frozen puff pastry is for you? But this is recommended to feed your children.

Re: formula leads to obesity
Why, was the sodium wrong? I thought it compared the fries to the meals and the meals had more.
I think you took the comparison article a little to personally. Why are you making it such a big deal? Most people who replied all agreed that everything just needs to be in moderation. I don't think anyone was going to protest against gerber.
How is she making it "such a big deal"? She is just posting some other, more dubious information from the same site...
omg you guys are finally delivering the hype and hysteria people have been promising to me all morning.
I totally agree. What in the heck do you mean "taking it personally"? I think you're maybe taking it a bit personally that she found some other information on that sight that seems a bit off. Is it your website or something?
well i mean there was the sodium discrepancy for cheerios, which is no biggie. but i wouldn't be giving my kid baklava for sure. i also don't see formula being a major factor in leading to obesity. i see parents being a major factor in their child's weight.
nice!
I don't think Matthew has been given baklava but I can't be sure.
But can someone google the sodium in the meals and then the sodium ina medium fry and then we will know for sure?
omg, do it now!
Don't think I'm ungrateful
and brown sugar i believe.
and nuts. Although I heard honey was okay if it was cooked honey
Happy Birthday, little man. We love you so much!
My favorite money saving tip: I've earned more than $300 in gift cards (Amazon, Starbucks, Southwest!) using SwagBucks for internet searching - and you can too! It's FREE and EASY!
This just made my day.
Alright
The only reason I thought you were making a big deal out of it, is because it seems like you are trying to make the website sound wrong. I don't really care what the website says, I agree that everything in moderation is the way to go, as do you. I only shared the site because I thought it was interesting, but maybe the whole site is a load of crap! I wasn't trying to sound mean or snappy.
LMAO
As far as formula leading to obesity... that's BS.
I think there is some research that says formula can start a kid down the path towards obesity, but there are lots of other factors included to make that a reality. I think it's something about them over eating because of bottle feeding? I suppose that could be true of people who pump exclusively too?
I don't know, I maybe get the argument to an extent but I hate when something like formula feeding gets associated with obesity when like you said, there are so many other factors. My neighbors are morbidly obese and their 7yr old daughter, who was breastfed, is huge. It's what they feed her now - fast food all.the.time, cake for breakfast, regular soda as early as 9am. It's a travesty.
Cake leads to obesity! Ha! Not sure about formula, though...
But formula feeding does lead to obesity. It may make you feel guilty and it may not be politically correct to say so but FFing starts that path. By 600%!

some of those studies don't take into account the fact that many women who breast feed are usually more educated in general, and therefore make better choices when feeding their children later in life.
(i didnt read all of these)
The 600% has nothing to do with formula.
" formula-fed babies who begin eating solid foods before four months are 600 percent more likely to become obese by age three than children who begin eating solid foods later."So because I formula fed, I am less educated, and won't be able to pick out healthy foods? Please explain your statement.
IN GENERAL.
i am making no assumption on women here, before anyone else gets offended. clearly, there are millions of women in other parts of the world with NO education that breast feed. but here in the U.S. the higher the education level of the mother, the more likely she will breastfeed.
for realzies
Educated mothers are more likely to breastfeed and stick with it. Also women with higher incomes but that is probably because they are more educated.

There are tons of studies that show mothers that breastfeed have higher IQs and post secondary education
annnnnnnd here we go!
Well, I graduated from college, so does this apply to Mom's who tried to bf but failed? My milk never came in & I worked with a lactation specialist. I would've loved to bf, but it didn't work out for me.
Right, because people with no money aren't educated?
You are completely misunderstanding what she is saying. It is an overall thing, not specific to you.
