This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I though the OP was a spoof. Then I came back to see what all the activity was about to find out that generally this is statistically correct. My FF baby is FTT. And if I would have continued to BF her to save her from a life of fattyness she'd be dead. She would have starved to death waiting for my milk to come in. I'm so tired of hearing the various ways I'm potentially endangering my child by FF because we didn't really have an alternative. So statistics and generalizations can suck it!
It was never my intent to get to the ff/bf debate. I was looking to discredit the blog and prove Gerber isn't the devil and McDonald's is.
I really believe that. But it's going to go there. Which is ok. It's not the first time and won't be the last. But it spiced up the board for a while.

FML No! I don't follow all the bs chick fights on here, so I never know. I'd still like to smack her in the face with a hot frying pan.

  • Hi ALG29, I write yumkid.com. I'd like to thank you for visiting. Regarding the McDonald's vs Gerber, I was comparing the sodium content of the two foods. The cow protein for formula post was based on some research I came across. I look forward to your comments. Thanks!
  • Hi yankeebaby, I write yumkid.com. I'd like to thank you for visiting. The post was written a year ago, on 3/15/2010. The sodium content is accurate as of that time. It is possible they have done a formulation change since then. My takeaway from your comment regarding the difference in the sodium amount is that I should put in screenshots of the nutrition panel in my posts.

I look forward to your comments. Thanks!

  • Hi, I write yumkid.com. The baklava recipe that was referenced is my own recipe, which is much lower in sugar than regular baklava. In my recipe we don't cook with honey or sugar, we just 'drizzle' a bit of the honey on top once the cooking is finished.

I feel that part of childhood is to enjoy treats (in moderation!) as well as healthy eating, and baklava is one of the few dessert recipes I have. My site has a lot of healthy recipes that focus on getting kids to eat veggies, lentils, fruits etc..

I look forward to your comments. Thanks!
