Moms of 2 or more-diaper bag

Hey ladies,

I am looking into purchasing a new diaper bag. DS is just over 2 but is no where near ready for potty training (we have been trying) and DD is due in May.

What diaper bags do you have that have room for two kids worth of stuff. I am willing to spent some money if it is really worth it :)

Thanks for your input.

  • The Be Prepared by Ju Ju Be.  I cloth diaper, so I had to buy a HUGE diaper bag to make room for the diapes :)  My SIL who has 2 girls and is expecting a 3rd also has one.

  • We don't have 2 yet, but I know we will someday soon and will all the flying I do alone with DS, the Ju Ju Be *Be Prepared* has been wonderful.

  • I have the Harper Madras Diaper Tote from PBK and really like it.  The 3 outside pockets are great.  It has one large inside pocket and one zipper inside pocket.  Mine has held up great!

  • I have the Ju Ju Be backpack and love that.  It has so much room and I like that it has backpack straps since shoulder straps tend to slide off my shoulders all the time.  Plus you can pull the top of the backpack straps up and you can wear it like a messenger bag.

  • I have 3 different diaper bags,  but I found that one I used the most w/ 2 was the Ju Ju Be All (messenger style) because I could carry it hands-free w/out worrying about it sliding off my shoulder. Completely hands-free/out of the way is key when you're juggling 2 young kids! ;)

Honestly, for some reason once DD2 came around, I found I was carrying a lot LESS stuff for 2 then I did with just DD1! I guess I downsized a lot ;) A lot of my friends were the same w/ 2....maybe it's because we were out less often in situations where we needed "stuff" to occupy the kids. As long as I had enough diapers/wipes and a change of clothes, we are good to go. I just recently got rid of my diaper bag altogether and am just using a large purse and it's plenty of room. :)

  • Just a few days ago, we went to BRU with the intention of buying the BIGGEST diaper bag they had, regardless of cost.

Tried them ALL - the big names, the cheap-o's and the biggest was the Eddie Bauer tote.  It's hideous - It's this khaki color but it is AWESOME.  Fits all our stuff.  $39.

  • The diaper bag issue plagued me!  I didn't want to spend $100+ on a diaper bag but I was convinced I needed a giant one.  P's was full to the top sometimes.  Like a PP said, I took a breath, emptied it out & downsized.  I had so much crap in there that I didn't need.

I got a carter's used bag from a local consignment shop for $15 and it's way bigger than P's PBK bag.  It works great for both of them and still has room & it's light.  So you may want to check out some carter's bags.
