1st Trimester

morning sickness = boy or girl?

For all the 2nd time moms, did you have MS with your first?  If so what did you have?  Do you have it now?  With my DS I had nothing.  This time around I'm sick ALL day and night.  I know that each pregnancy can be different so I'm just wondering what others have gone through.

Re: morning sickness = boy or girl?

  • Ive had morning sickness with both my pregnancies. My first was a girl and Im expecting a boy.

  • I had zero m/s when pg with my twin girls. This pg, I have many queasy moments (thankfully, no vomitting!) My "hunch" is that I'm having a boy but DH def. thinks another girl.

  • The whole morning sickness thing is definitely just a big myth!

I had no morning sickness with my first and had a boy and I have been having none again this time around.

My sister-in-law had a boy first, and just recently a girl and she had terrible morning sickness both times (especially with her boy)

  • My M/S was worse in my first pregnancy with DD.  We are team green this time.

There actually was a study once that found worse morning sickness (like true hyperemesiss) was more common in pregnancies that resulted in girls.  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14687048?ordinalpos=13&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum

  • Mine was more intense with my son.  I'm guessing I'm having a girl based on how different I'm feeling this time.  I still have some, though it's not near as bad.
  • I had virtually no morning sickness with DS - I mean I remember feeling a little "gaggy" every now and then but it was just for a week or two.

This time around, it hit early and hard.  I am feel like I am going to barf 24/7.  Nothing is appetizing, but I have to continuously eat all day because if I don't I feel even worse.

Not sure if this = boy or girl.  We will find out eventually ;)

  • Congratulations! And good luck w/ your delivery!!!
  • I had a lot of nausea and sickness with my first and it was a boy.  I'm expecting #2 and having about the same degree of sickness but don't know what I'm having yet so we'll see!
  • Sick this time, sick last time.  I have a boy, too early to tell, but my guess is a girl.

  • I had nausea only with my first - it was a boy. I've vomited almost every morning so far with this one (but no more for the rest of the day) - I'll let ya know on April 15th what we're having. LOL.
  • I had CRAZY morning sickness with my son. Ugh and it lasted forever!!!
  • Isn't it funny how everyone has a differnet story?!  I had nothing with my son, but this time OMG sick all day and night.  My thoughts are maybe girl because it's so different?  IDK.  I have friends that were sick with both and they have 1 girl, 1 boy.  I have one friend who had nothing with her 1st which was a DS, and now was sick the whole 9 mo and had another DS!  You just never know!  Big Smile
