Re: FFFC

  • My confession; I completely fell off the Weight Watchers wagon this week. I didn't track anything and I didn't work out. I hurt my knee last week, and I've used that as an excuse to be lazy. I've put it out of my mind all week however I woke up this morning feeling really guilty and disappointed in myself. Part of me knows I can get right back to it and have a good week next week, but most of me is just pissed at myself.

There is a woman at my gym who has the most incredible a$$. She always gets the elliptical in front of me so it?s just right there. I want to ask her what she does since tushies like that are not from the elliptical, but that would be weird.

Then I noticed the Lululemon logo on her jacket. I?ve always heard great things about their yoga pants so I?ve convinced myself dropping $100 on yoga pants will make my size 16 tush look as good as her size 4 or 6.

Did it work?  FYI there is an outlet up near Burlington, so if you are up for a road trip you can usualy score their stuff up to 60% off.  I've gotten some of their tops for as little as $10 before, that sell in the stores for $40.

We could do a bumpie GTG in Burlington to shop at the Lulu outlet.

I had a mental breakdown last night. I create way to much work for myself and I hate it. DH made my to-do list and says he is going to help me out. We will see if that happens.

I am watching 4 kids today. WTF was I thinking??

I had to google what a Tiger Moms is :)

Hugs B! I'm sorry you are stressed, I know that overloaded feeling and it sucks. Let me know if I can do anything to help!

I feel you.  I've been off the bandwagon for a couple of weeks now and I'm feeling it.  I went off program simply because I was lazy and didn't want to go the grocery store so I ended up eating all the leftover crap in our pantry.  It didn't help that my parents gave us a bag of Cool Ranch Flavor Doritos and a cheesecake when we dropped off the girls last weekend.

I'm going back on program tomorrow, which is my regular weigh-in day.  So, for all the people I'm working with at the B&B Fair setup tomorrow, I might be a little on the crazy side.

Awww, Dawn why didn't you tell me. I'm here to support you regardless!  I didn't track all weekend and gained 3 lbs!!! WTF??  I've lost all but half a lb and am working to lose at least another lb so I can not seeing that "So you gained weight that's ok...." thing again.

I highly recommend the 30 day shred if you haven't tried it, do it.  It's so rewarding and only 25 mins.  We can talk about all of this on Sunday.  You are doing great girly, and it's OK and perfectly NORMAL to have a set back or 2 or 3. ((hugs)).

  • We have only had sex twice since W was born, 10 months ago.  I feel bad for dh, but I feel like such an unsexy lump, especially after a day with the boys, it's the last thing on my mind.  Dh has been on vacation for the month of Feb, and I had plans to get back into the groove, but we have all been sick, so sleep has been a high priority.

I will also be sending lots of dust to those waiting to test!

  • DD is SO good about playing and looking at books by herself. Because of this, I spend entirely too much time online. I bump and think 'I should be down there with her', but continue bumping. (To avoid sounding like a complete slacker-mom, I'll add that I do get down and play with her and read to her but not enough to avoid guilt.)

  • DH and I both keep going back and forth on a second child. We would have to wait a bit to make sure it would be a 2012 baby for insurance. I am worried about 2 kids fighting all the time, and that it would impact our abaility to go on trips due to cost. I feel feally selfish for saying it is due to money and not being able to travel but I am really bummed out this year that we can't take a nice family vacation and I know if we have to pay for 4 people it will be even harder to afford to travel. So I guess that means we shoudn't have a second child. But for some reason we just can't get the idea out of our heads. We are both very torn on the subject.

  • I know Tiger moms can be successful and simultaneously make screwed up kids - I have all kinds of mommy issues (abandonment from my biological mother & a tiger step-mom with a bonus passive aggressive MIL)  which is currently making me hyper aware of my parenting abilities.

DD is super fussy (teething and we're working on sleep) and I'm recovering from a flu-type bug so I accepted DH's offer to drive her to try to get her to nap since I couldn't get her down this morning even though DH should be working here at his home office.

I was talking with MIL yesterday and she makes little digs/teases that really get to me.  I know she's trying to make suggestions in her own way and it's my previously stated mommy issues but I can't get past it right now so I'm temporarily stuck without back up baby care during a week I know I need more help with being a SAHM.

  • I finally started a workout routine last night and today I'm totally going to track down and buy girl scout cookies. DH was going to buy some last year when I was pregnant and never did so I'm going to make up for it now.

Last weekend the inlaws were here and they get on our nerves so much. SFIL is so negative and picks on everyone because he is a waste himself and MIL boasts him up so much he thinks he is far superior than anyone else. They always compare us to SSIL and her family (who is very competitive with life). But they compare us in a sense to make us feel less than. So in turn it makes us competitive, which we aren't normally. It makes the main reason for me to work out to just look better than her and DH agrees.

I got really mad at MIL because she had to get a present for my other SSIL and spend a bit of money at express for her but didn't buy anything for DH on his birthday.

We are suppose to go to CA for S's first bday and get her baptized but after this weekend we don't want to be around any of them. But I know it would upset my family too. Even though they drive us crazy sometimes too, they are far better grandparents and aunts.

On a lighter note, good luck to all the ladies waiting to test. I'm excited and slightly jealous. :)

  • Am I allowed to have 2?  Because someone just said something to me that really ticked me off.

She asked if I was going to be a "Full Time Mom" after this baby was born.  What I think she meant was a stay at home mom.  EVERY mom is a full time mom.  I have 2 teenagers and I'm STILL a full time mom.  I just happen to have a 40 hour a week job that takes me out of my house.

*sigh*  I know what she meant but now I'm fuming.

    This one's kind of controversial:

I think Tiger Moms are horrible mothers.

I had to Google this to know what you were even talking about! Embarrassed I am so out of the loop on everything!

And I am with you and MWhite, I want my kid to succeed in life, but I also want him to be happy, loved, encouraged, loving, opinionated, and have a voice in this world. I don't want to squash him into obedience and submission. I will never force him to do somthing for hours on end, without a break to use the bathroom, just so that he can master it in one night. I find this parenting technique disturbing!

  • I judge people who don't dress their children appropriately for the weather yet they are dressed weather appropriate.

Last Saturday I observed a lady & her husband (both dressed in coats & the husband was wearing a knit cap) tote their baby (my age guess: 3 - 4 months) outside dressed in simply pants & a long sleeve onesie.  Granted there was no snow last weekend but it was pretty cold.  The baby just had a long sleeve onesie & pants - no hat, no socks, no blanket, no sweatshirt/coat!! yet the parents were dressed for cold weather.

That day my son was dressed in a hat, pants, long sleeve onesie, sweatshirt & had a blanket in his car seat.

I've stopped judging people for your FFFC on the off chance they were caught in a blow-out accident with no extra clothes available.

  • I secretly (not anymore) hate every pregnant woman I see or hear about right now! I want another baby desperately. I went through this before we TTCd with Max too. And though I only have to wait a few more months, I grit my teeth and seethe with the fire of a thousand suns whenever someone announces a pg or just plain walks past me with a big ol' belly!

I hope this doesn't happen after the next baby because DH wants to be done after two!

My confession is that I went to Frost, after my glucose test today, with a coupon for buy 2, get one 1 free.  Somehow, I left with 7, though. :-)  I am almost finished with 2, as my breakfast (had to fast before the test).  I told DH I'd try to save him 1-2.  I have no guilt whatsoever about eating several donuts today.

I also don't get why anyone has a problem with the sugary glucose test drink.  Maybe it's b/c I like sweet drinks, normally.  I took the lemon-lime one and it was just like flat Sprite or something.

Totally jealous of your doughnuts, but you deserved it.  I didn't mind the taste of my drink (I had orange both times).  However, I did hate how ill it made me feel after when I took it in the first tri.  I still had morning sickness and I didn't want to eat for the rest of the day.  The second time around was fine.

  • My SIL is the one that is driving me nuts and I feel bad but I kind of flipped out on DH for it the other day. To start out with DH?s family is very anti Vaccine and SIL keeps offering us ?information? about why not vaccinating is the best option. In the past couple of months she has brought the topic up several different times and each time I tell her DH and I are researching the topic to make the choice that is best for us. Well about 3 hours after I delivered LO she starts in with the topic again; I had to bite my tongue to not go off on her. About 5 or 6 hours after I delivered she left her autistic son in my hospital room while she went to a town about 20 min away so she could do some things that she needed to get done. I had an amazing delivery and it really bugs me that these two ?events? also stand out as part of our daughter?s birthday. We are home from the hospital for 1-? days after spending 5 days in the hospital and she lets her son call DH and ask if he can come over to play video games; this is where I lost it and finally told DH that she was being completely disrespectful and not respecting our boundaries. He called her back and told her that this wasn?t a good time for them to come over; the next morning I wake up and she and her son were at the house and she calls several times a day each day since we have been home. The morning she stopped by I just stated in bed with LO until she left and I don?t think that DH even knows that I knew she was here. I feel bad because DH feels like I am just discriminating against his family; I don?t think this is the case, I think she is being very disrespectful and not observing our boundaries. Since I said something DH has been really good about making sure that SIL is not coming over all the time; but I know it is hard on him because he feels like his family can't be around now. He is really trying to make sure I am not stressed or upset and I feel bad because I know that this is hard on him. It?s doesn?t help that I am still very resentful of SIL for telling my brother that I was pregnant before I got a chance to tell him and I have been silently harboring this resentment for the past 8 months; it feels good to finally tell DH how I feel. Hopefully something will change but I am not holding my breath.

That day my son was dressed in a hat, pants, sweatshirt & had a blanket in his car seat.

Where were they coming from?  I used to judge people about this until I discovered the unmitigated joy of blowouts. Sometimes you get them all gussied up and weather proper, then they go and poop all of your work into oblivion.

I've stopped judging people for your FFFC on the off chance they were caught in a blow-out accident with no extra clothes available.

I honestly didn't think of a blow out. . .they were walking in the parking lot.  You & my husband are right, I shouldn't jump to conclusions (although I have the jump to conclusions mat) Smile
