when exactly do you use your stroller?

Just curious when others use their strollers. We have a mountain buggy, but I'm thinking of getting the maclaran volo and I'm not sure how much use I will get out of it. I use the mountain buggy for walks around the neighbourhood, the rare trip to the zoo, and that's pretty much it. I never go to the mall because I do pretty much all my shopping online.

So, when do you use your stroller? Thanks!

stroller strides (M-F), the zoo, theme parks and walks around the neighborhood.

I also have a small umbrella stroller that I used for a vacation but also use if I'm making a quick trip into a store that doesn't have carts (like kohls).

Almost never. I use it at the mall, but we rarely go there. We used to use it at the zoo, aquarium, etc. But we are to the point now that DD prefers to walk, so we mostly just use it on the walk to and from the car, and once we are inside DD walks.

We have a Bob Revolution and we use ours for walks around town and mommy & me fitness class.

I have a cheap-o umbrella stroller too but wish I had something in between. Thinking of trading the Bob in and getting something like a Britax B-ready (has storage and sunshade but is smaller, lighter) that can go from double to single for when we have another babe.

Now? When I have to take B out alone to a place without shopping carts - like the mall - or when we go to places with a lot of walking - like the zoo (and even then it's half-walking). Most days he goes in a cart, or walks while holding my or DH's hand. He's pretty much at the point where he won't sit in it now without throwing a tantrum, so I only use it if I absolutely have to. I just can't go shopping with him holding hands, because he's very ornery and far too heavy to hold when he starts trying to scamper off.

If your LO can walk, or is getting close to that point, I wouldn't bother getting another stroller unless you NEED it. Once they can walk well, they generally prefer to do so when they're not tired.

I have a Metro Lite and a jogger and I use the Metro lite when shopping and the jogger for neighborhood walks and as soon as I have medical clearance (sports injury) for jogging. DD loves walking but I'm not ready to let her be a full time walker yet.

thanks guys, this has been very helpful. now I'm thinking I won't get another stroller. DS is 16 months and an excellent walker, and DS #2 will be born when he's 20 months. I imagine I won't ever be leaving the house at the point anyway!

LOL. We use ours at the mall (rarely go there), walks in the neighborhood, and places like Kohl's that don't have great carts.

We have a maclaran volo and use it all the time. Any time we go to the mall, which is a lot. Half the time we go to other stores, and all the time for outlet malls. We use it for the park and pretty much everywhere. Our 2 maclarens are what we use for most everything, even the zoo. We hardly ever use our jogging stroller. We just keep one in each car and use it for everything. Both are maclarens andd we love them!

We have a jogging stroller which I use regularly for walks in the neighborhood. We also have an umbrella stoller, but we don't use it very often. Mostly for an occasional trip to the mall or an outdoor excursion when we don't want to pack the jogging stroller. I'm hoping we'll get more use out of it eventually!

Sounds like you're just not really a stroller user. I use mine allllll the time, but I really like to get out of the house. We run errands all the time and use carts a lot too, but I really do need my stroller! If you aren't using it much now then it doesn't seem like it's worth your money.

I almost never use the stroller. I haven't used it much for months. I do use her tricycle a good bit :-) It has a steering arm behind it for me and she loves to ride in that.
