ETA: there is a huge difference between posting a picture of your child in something that you made for your child, resulting in people requesting the same for theirs, and doing what just happened.

I am a teacher, stepmother to a 14 year old (who has several people call CPS on bogus claims because her mother lost custody of her and she thinks that is the way to get back to her), a very smart 4 year old, and an energetic 14 month old who has been very sick lately. I don't have time... I read and laugh... and I pray for those who think they are holier than thou... I am so glad I am southern....

Reporting it seems really lame to me & definitely unnecessarily dramatic. She's offering a FREE service to help build her portfolio. I've already done T's bday stuff, but it seems like there are plenty of ladies on here who would be interested & it would be a win-win for everybody. OP of Original Post: I say best of luck in building your business!!!! No need to hate on other Mommas trying to build a source of income.

It's amazing how many losers try and get back at other people with CPS. My brother's girlfriend tried to do it to him my slut sister didn't get the reception she wanted so she tried to do it to my mom. Bring it up to attack other bumpies...childish...

There are ways to do this without violating the TOS. If everyone were allowed to advertise their etsy shops, stationary stores, etc, then, TB would be a parade of advertisements on the boards (not just in the margins).

People like jess & shorty have links to their shops in OTHER peoples' siggys, but not in their own. Get your friends to talk up your shop. Word of mouth. Always the best advertising.

And it's also unfair to the ladies that don't violate the TOS to have people advertising their shops without any penalties.

But she didn't link to her store & didn't put up a freakin' invoice of what she did. If the OP had posted her invitations to her son's party and said "look what I did" & then people started asking her for papergoods, that would be what happened with Jess & Shorty, and also not against the TOS.

Well, I mean, it's TB, so things have to be on a whole different level of dramatic. But seriously, she was good about deleting her post, so chances are if you sent her a pm politely explaining that it was against the TOS and she would have to dd- it looks like she would have done it. If not, then go to 11.

Instead....well the same old same old. God, TB gets tired sometimes.

Having the link in other people's siggys is a mere technicality. The point is that they are there. You are splitting hairs on this one. In my opinion, offering to do something for free is a lot different than having a friend put a link to your business in her siggy. But considering that's apparently allowed, I will gladly put a link to Sami's business in mine.

. This. I still feel like the OP is definitely getting unfair treatment as the bottom line is she very courteously & cautiously posted, offered her free service, and then graciously deleted with out a fuss when ppl freaked out over it.

There was no reason to call what this poster did disgusting and report her. The only reason it happened is because she is a newbie.

Um, hai. I'm being a big fat nerd tonight and playing computer games when I was notified that I was mentioned in this post.

I'd just like to state that I was flamed for what happened. Maybe it wasn't a "proper flaming" because I didn't fight back and add to the drama? I knew it wasn't intelligent and it was a bad idea the second it happened. I never tried to justify it.

I was flamed on TB but, as many of you will point out, not by my "clique." The reason for that is quite simple. They are my friends. They know that is not typical behavior for me. So, instead of flaming me, I was contacted privately by many of them to ask what the hell was up. More than one person made sure to tell me that A) that wasn't OK and ask me if I was doing OK. I wasn't. I'm still not.

That doesn't excuse my behavior, but it's the truth. I'm not OK at all. That day was my emotional breaking point. I've got a lot going on personally that I'm trying to get worked out.

Do I expect all of you to know this? No way. Because I didn't mention it. I confessed my mistake and was flamed publically and privately chastised. Sorry if it wasn't the feast you were looking for, DnD.

I report everyone I see that blatantly advertises the way that this OP did. I've done it quite a few times. And they are usually newbies, because seasoned bumpies know better.
