Prego? Offensive...why?

So, I've noticed from reading a couple of posts that some people find 'prego' offensive?  Why?

    To me, it's not offensive but more annoying than anything. Girls in high school use "prego", we're all adults here and don't mind taking the extra 1/2 second to type the full proper word.

    Yeah, I wouldn't say offensive. People on this board prefer that people not pussyfoot around the real words for things. Like sex instead of baby dancing and pregnant instead of prego.
