I am going to get a new pump tomorrow and wanted to know what everyone recommended. I know you can't go wrong with the Medela but was wondering if any of you had the Avent and what you thought about it. Thank you ladies!

Re: Avent Pump vs. Medela Pump
I would recommend looking at an Ameda Purely Yours pump. You can get it for around $150 on amazon (just the pump you don't need the bag and extra crap). I own one and it is great. It comes highly recommended on the breastfeeding board too and is another big name used by hospitals pump brand. I've heard about problems with the level of suction on the Avent Isis pump.
I will never, ever buy a Medela after all the recall issues and based on this article I read:

The Ameda is also a closed end system so can be used for multiple children or users.
Another highly recommended brand is Hygeia and they allow you to do a 2 week trial of their pumps which is huge since you cannot return a pump under any circumstance once it has been opened.
Good luck!
