I'm getting close to my due date and this is our last LO (I'm very aware that this is my last chance to use my favorite names), and I find I'm all of a sudden finding it difficult not to scrap my fairly sensible baby names and go to the dark side. I secretly love LOTR and Star Trek.
I know that it would be mean to shackle a kid with either Tiberius or Rohan, but I kind of want to; it really doesn`t help that DH completely supports the idea. I need to go and grab a good book and stay away from SciFi network for the next four weeks. ![]()
Re: Is anyone else fighting their inner "dork?"
I LOVE your real name choices (and your current LO's names) don't go messing it up now!
Get some cats/goldfish/turtles/pet rocks and name them all the far out there Star-Trek names you want!

I wanted out little girl's middle name to be Eowyn. My husband talked me down from the ledge.
But there are ways you can do it. I think Aurelia has a very LOTR edge to it, even if it's not a name from there -- like Gabrielle/Galadriel or Eleanor/Elanor. Or you could name your child James Thomas -- it's not James Tiberius, but you still get James T. I actually know someone who did this last one.
LOL. My thought exactly. I recently named a cat Tiberius (after the historical figure) and my in-laws immediately referenced Star Trek. I had no idea how popular this was!
See we could probably pass it off as a historical/literary thing, what with our other LO's and pet names choices, but the reality is that we would have named our child Tiberius after James T. Kirk.
So funny! I know what you mean though...

My DH wanted Bruce Wayne Lastname, as well.
Both DH and I like James Tiberius. We keep it on our list, but don't think we would use it.
Since we are having boy/girl twins, he would love to name them Luke and Leia. This combo I'm more inclined to say "no" to as its much more obvious (not sure if that is the right word).
