Success after IF

I was super impressed by projectile vomit this morning

It shot so far over my shoulder that not a single drop got on my work clothes or on him.  Jax has been spitting up more since the GI upped his meds and started having me put oatmeal in his bottle instead of rice, which was constipating him.  This morning we tried no oatmeal or rice and that clearly did not work.  I think I just need to stop worrying about spit up while he is sick, its a losing battle with the nasal drip.

The GI also thought it would be a good idea to start solids which I was a little surprised about.  She said to try apples and that went just ok last week.  We did oatmeal and sweet potatoes last night and it was about the cutest thing ever.  He screamed bloody murder when I took them away.  DH said well he's Irish of course he likes the potatoes over apples...DH that would be white potatoes not sweet potatoes.

  • lol!!!  your title cracks me up!!  I remember a few mornings like that :)  The post nasal drip definitely makes things worse for us too...yuck.  I hope he "grows out of it" soon!!  (and too funny about your DH and potatoes...lol!)
  • OMG projectile vomit brings back memories for me. Brady no joke would puke so hard and used to love when he would do it right after I showered and would nail me when I wasn't holding him. Damn pyloric ten

  • Ugh, I dont miss the spit up.  It was everywhere!  DS didnt really have any other symptoms though so there was really nothing to treat and it didnt bother him.  One day, you will be able to wear a shirt all day without ending up with spit up on it.

PS - He really didnt grow out of this until he was almost a year so while solids helped slow it down, it didnt cure it.

  • I don't miss the projectile spit/vomit. We had that a lot when he was an infant. I will tell you that adding solids did help some but he spit until we took him off of formula at a year.
