I boycott Valentine's Day. IMO the whole "holiday" is a big commercialized scam. There is no proof that St.
Valentine had anything to do with love/lovers. In fact, there is
little evidence of what the guy did to become a martyr at all. I have read that the "holiday" sprang from fictional works by Chaucer and the popular story of St. Valentine
performing marriages is little more than a myth which probably
originated in the 1700s. But no one really know for sure. Either way I boycott on principal.
We don't boycott, but don't really go nuts over it either. I'm not a huge fan of how commercial it has become. That being said, I never turn down a good excuse to get a few of my favorite chocolates since I never buy them for myself otherwise! Idk what I'll do with my kid(s) when the time comes though.
We don't really "do" Valentine's Day. DH and I will probably have a nice dinner, and I told him he could get me a case of chocolate stout if he really wants to get me a gft.
DD has a couple of cute outfits she'll wear, but that's it.
We never really do anything either. I got DH a card and thats it. My mom used to always have a little something for us when we were younger and it go me wondering.
