Does this just sound made up to you? It is in the 500's on the SS list. I just came across it tonight.
We have 7 weeks until our baby girl is here, and have not decided on a name.
Front runners are Sophia, Lila, Eva, and Caroline. I like Grace, but we have a one syllable last name and I think 1 syllable 1st names sound funny. Gracelyn Moore (our last name) sounds better, I'm sure I would shorten it to Grace or Gracie at times.
What do you think?
Re: What do you think of the name Gracelyn?
My BFF named her daughter this. It fits her really well and lends to a few good nicknames! However, it took me a while to warm up to it. It sounded a little too much like "Graceland" at first.
Overall, I would say it's alright.
Actually, Grace is my mn choice for Sophia!
The mn's we have picked out are Sophia Grace and Lila Katherine. Eva Caroline is a possibility. No mn for Caroline yet.
1. Elvis fan (Graceland)
2. Wanted to make 'Grace' unique.
3. Awful.
Grace is a beautiful name. Sophia, Lila, Eva and Caroline are by far better than Gracelyn. Grace Moore sounds lovely, btw. Caroline is definitely one of my favorite names. Caroline Moore sounds fabulous.

this. And I don't like Grace the best out of your name choices, but Grace Moore doesn't sound too bad.
I really like your other choices better, honestly. (I think all four you mentioned are very pretty!) I'm not a big fan of adding -lyn to most names, because it often does sound a little contrived, and not as strong as the original name (i.e. Emma vs. Emmalynn, Grace vs. Gracelyn, etc.).
I may be kind of the odd man out here, but I actually think that 1 syllable first and last names, depending on the letters within, can sound really nice together. Grace Moore, for instance, actually sounds really classy, in my opinion.

I strongly dislike Gracelyn. Yuck. I like Grace though. I'd rank your names:
1. Sophia
2. Eva
3. Lila
4. Grace
5. Caroline
If you're going to shorten it to Grace and call her Grace, name her Grace.
Don't ruin a lovely classic name by making it trendy. The remaining names are lovely as well.
Sounds made up to me, too.
Like PP, I think of Elvis when I hear it, and I have to assume it's made up.
Grace Moore sounds very nice, actually. As someone with a one-syllable LN, I totally get what you mean by wanting to avoid choppy combinations. But some short FNs break the rule (for instance, Rose Moore, Brynn Moore, James Moore, and John Moore all sound great).
Gracelyn sounds really made up. I like Lila Grace Moore. I also like Lilah as a spelling, since you're asking.
Caroline is one of my favorite names, too!
