What's the norm on your husbands attending your OB appts? Do they attend every single one, or just the "major" ones?
My hubby is feeling a little guilty that he can't be at this one today, even though this isn't a "major" one. I told him it was no biggie and it doesn't really bother me, but he seems to feel pretty bad as he has attended all of them so far.

Okay, I'm totally lurking over here from July- but I just had to comment on you being in Fredericksburg. My husband and I live in Harper!
*I suppose I could weigh in on the question too... my husband can't get off of work for my appointment this week. He is sad about it, but there are so many throughout the pregnancy and they're so routine (urine, blood pressure, hb...) that it's okay if he can only make it to the "big" ones.

Ha, I was just thinking about this today. Tomorrow is my anatomy scan and of course my husband will be there, but I thought to myself at lunch that this will probably be the last one he'll go to for a while. He has gone to all of my appointments except for the first initial pregnancy confirmation/bloodwork appointment. All of them have been "major" since then:
6 week- first ultrasound
12 week- heartbeat
16 week- optional gender ultrasound
tomorrow- anatomy scan
I wonder if he'll want to continue to come to all of them?
With our first he came to every appt. But, we were both full time college students so it was super easy to schedule the appts around our classes and part time jobs.
For the second and third, he hasn't been to one appt. He came to the first u/s, the NT scan and he'll be at the anatomy scan on Monday.
I want him to come at least once to meet my new OB, but if that doesn't happen I won't be upset. H & I work together so I know how hard it is to take off.

Mine has come to every appointment so far. He may miss some later, due to work but we are tying to make them so he can attend them all. Doctors have always made me nervous, so I bring him to any kind of appointment I have. LOL
We both work in Kerrville (he was born & raised there, I'm from Austin) and we just moved out to Harper in July. He does pest control and I do digital photo retouching and marketing for a company out of Austin.
I'm actually going to deliver at St. Lukes in SA- I couldn't seem to find a good CNM in Kerrville or Fredericksburg with hospital privileges.
Where did you move from?
Mine missed the first appointment and ultrasound. He would have liked to be there but had no vacation left and couldn't get out of work. He managed to get out for the NT scan but still hasn't heard the HB.
My DR has twice made comments about him not being there, one at the ultrasound and at my second appointment where I just peed in a cup and tried to listed to the HB, saying "Oh your DH didn't want to come today?" It really pissed me off. Why would you assume he's not there because he doesn't want to come? If she says it again I'm going to snap.
btw now that vacation has reset he's still not going to make every appointment. Only the important ones. We both would rather he save time off for when the baby is here!

My husband only comes to the ultrasounds.
He's REALLY uncomfortable in doctors offices, so having him there and fidgeting isn't helpful. I report back fully to him after each one, and he's happy with that.

DH has been to every one so far, but I don't know if he'll go to our appt this Thursday. There's no ultrasound, and he doesn't have any concerns or questions this go round whereas last time he did.
Although, I like having him at our appts so I hope he goes. Just b/c only last time the doctor asked a question about our next ultrasound, and I had no idea what she was talking about but DH did--she was asking if the genetics counselor's office was going to do it, or just get the results from them. I had totally spaced that the GC's office offered that, but we declined and were just going to let the OB do it and send them results. DH knew right away and was able to answer for me. Pregmentia strikes again! lol
