MH came to my first appointment at 8 weeks, and will come to my 20 weeks anatomy scan next week.  If there's any other 'major' appointment in the future, I will have him come along to those as well, but in the meantime there's no point because they just weigh me, check my urine and blood pressure, draw thyroid levels, and check the heartbeat.

i've only really asked DH to the major ones - the other day i just had a check up and never bother to ask him, when i got home he was so dissapointed he didn't go....  i think though that he'll be begging to stay at home once we start classes for birthing etc.... lol

DH went to the first few appointments:  the first with the OB nurse, first with the OB (which I think has scarred him for life), first ultrasound.  I gave him a pass on the 16 week appointment and took my mom instead...made her day!

He's come to all of them so far except for one unplanned ultrasound with a different perinatologist who was able to fit me in same day and H was working. But I have a lot of anxiety with dr's so having him there helps keep me calm, and he likes being there to ask questions. He also comes to my midwife apts with me, because they are so much more in depth then just going to the OB for weight/BP/pee. They are usually a little over an hour talking about different things and we all need to be on the same page for the birth. I'm glad that he comes to everything, and is able to schedule work around the apts.

My dh has been to all of them except the physical he likes going even to the 10 minute monthly appointments so that he can hear the heartbeat and he helps me remember questions we may have as well, which is great I love that he comes with me but I also feel bad for him being stuck in a waiting room full of pregnant ladies as we only sometimes see the dads there

I'm very lucky that he has a flexibility to come to all of them and he loves it.  I'm a very paranoid mama and I wouldn't be cope to well if there was bad news and he wasn't there with me.  I love him xx

So far he's come to the first 2, and will be coming to the ultrasound next week.  From then on, I'll probably just go by myself, since they are so short.
