Stole this from 2nd tri I think...I was lurking over there and thought it was a fun poll. What name(s) do you love but won't/can't use for various reasons?
I love Audrina, but fear people saying "did you name her after The Hills star?"
Mallory, but I have a cousin named Mallory.
Leighla (Lee-La), but doesn't sound good with our last name. Last name starts LaM...too many "La"s.
Re: Names you love but won't use...
Ruby. I love it, I'm a red head and always secretly wished it was my own name. Husband hates it.
Jack, love love love it -- husband hates it.

I've always loved the name Denna (Den-ah) for a girl... but it is a name that my ex husband and I had chosen for a girl, before we found out that the pregnancy was ectopic. We've both since agreed that neither of us will use it in the future.
I have a bunch of boys names I adore, and a few other girls names,... but DH doesn't like any of them. Oh well. Luckily... I'm really happy with the names we've chosen this time around.
I have always loved Abigail, and it would have some historic family significance in DH's family, but I think it's too popular these days.
For a boy, I really like the name Jackson, but our last name ends in -son, so I don't like the way it sounds together. There are actually quite a few boy names that end in -son that I would like if it didn't sound funny with our last name.
I think give it a few years, and her 15 minutes of fame will be up
I have always loved Holden, my favorite book is Catcher in the Rye. But MH hates it and it is projected to be one of the popular names this year, so oh well. I still hold on to it for a possible middle name.
I also have always liked Kylie, however I have a niece named Kyla and one named Kayla, so I think adding Kylie would be overkill.
I actually made an excel spreadsheet for baby names we like, that ranked them by year of popularity, and many of my favorites were recently popular. MH and I both said we wanted to try and avoid giving our kids names that everyone has (we are John and Kelly!) so that eliminated many: Tyson, Olivia, Rowan, Tatum.
@Cvl I think Audrina might get comments at first, but people will forget about the Hills and it wont be an issue down the road.
June Bugs Blog
Oliver- Sounds funny with our last name
Caroline- My cousin's name
Olivia- My brother's psycho ex-GF had a daughter named Olivia and we loved her like she was part of our family, so it would be a constant reminder of both of them.
I've never watched The Hills so I have no bad association to the name.
i never watched the hills at all - so i never thought of this. if you like the name - go for it.

I think Audrina's 15 minutes are already up, everyone will have forgotten her in about a year. So go for it!
(Although we're naming our daughter Alexis if it's a girl and my mom had a little trouble with it because she's associating it with the mean girl from Dynasty or something!)
As for names I like and won't use -
Lilah - because it's our cat's name. I kind of wish I hadn't used it for her so I could use it for our daughter!
and about 1 billion other names that I love and my husband hates. He's much pickier than I am!
Kendall - It's a family name for me, but DH's niece's middle name is Kendal.
Dahlia - It's a family name for DH, but again, it's his niece's Jewish name and she frequently uses the name over her traditional name since she attends a Jewish day school.
Isaac - DH's father's name, but he is still living and it's bad juju (in Jewish tradition). Plus, I HATE the nn Ike (which his family uses for his father).
I love Isaiah, but Isaiah + our last name is the name of a famous basketball player. I also love Julia, but DH and I are both J names, so it is out, at least for our first child.
ETA: I have no idea who Audrina is, and I think in a few years, no one else will either.
I don't associate it withThe Hills, but I don't tend to know names of actors and actresses. It's a beautiful name and I wouldn't worry about that association (of course I don't know if there is a negative connotation since I don't know about her character to know if there is a negative connotation. My name is Brooke and people associated my name with Brooke Shields from time to time but it wasn't a big deal to me.
I LOVE the name Allegra -- especially because it means "Joy."
I think it sounds cute with my girls names, and it would sound great with our last name, but I just can't get past the fact that it's the name of the allergy medicine.
Ella. It's too popular AND our last name starts with La. It's a bit too much
MPZ born June 2011
TTC #2 ... Cycle 1-3: IUI = BFN | Cycle 4: IVF ... canceled but 3 snow babies
Cycle 5: FET .. BFP! | EDD - 3/15/2014
Most of the names I "can't" use are names I associate with former students. Or names of people's ex-girlfriends/boyfriends.
I've never seen The Hills, for what it's worth.
USE ADRINNA! I think it's so pretty! (I watched The Hills previously.. shame on me, hahaha) and I think it will be long forgotten. It's very pretty!!
I like all the popular names (Ella, Emma, Olivia, Sophia) and I'm concerned there will be too many.
I also love Ava but it's my niece's name.
I also LOVE Jacob but we already have a Jack and a Jacob in the family.
Fun post
Olivia Grace -- too popular. That has been my favorite name FOREVER!
Victoria -- no good nicknames; I don't like Vicki or Tori that much.
Beckett (boy) -- DH doesn't like.
Besides all the names DH vetoed:
I love Bella, but my stupid cousin named her ugly dog that! Seriously the dog looks like one of the flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz! yuck.
I love Emma too but its too popular now
I LOVE Bailey but another cousin who is pg and due in March announced she is using that for her daughter...blah
And I love Asher, however it sounds kinda weird with our last name...but I may still use it!
And I always liked Reign (pronounced Rain)...but ppl think its dumb and refused to let me use it.
Ugh, I feel like we will NEVER find a name we both love! We find out the gender tomorrow and I really hope once we do we can narrow it down...
Not as bad as what they did to Ella. It's the new morning after pill.
This is me too. Never watched it either but one of my uncles dated an Audrina when I was little, I always thought it was a pretty name.
I really like Jacob and Jack but won't use either because they are so popular right now. I just found Miles and really like it, but I'm a marathon runner so I wouldn't want people thinking I named him after all the miles I run!
CVL - I think you are totally fine with Audrina....The Hills was only popular with a select group of people so its not as big of a celebrity name as say Angelina or Reese. Its a beautiful name so if you love it (and have a girl), I'd say go with it!
BFP #2: 7/23/14 - MC: 8/28/14
BFP #3: 2/22/15 - MC: 3/3/15
BFP #4: 5/20/15 - Stick baby stick!!!
I want to name a girl Angeline after one of my best friends named Angela. But MH doesn't like the name. I think it is a beautiful name to go with our Italian last name. We are still torn about a girl name.
I definitely wouldn't think about Audrina from The Hills without you bringing it up. I think it is a very pretty name.
I totally think you can use Audrina or some variation of it (Audrey, etc.). But, I asked my hubby what comes to mind when he hears the name and he, like you expect your husband to do, said THE HILLS!
I love Rowen, but could never name my baby that because hubby says kids will always sing "Row, Row, Row your boat, gently down the stream...." to him! I still love it!
ummmmm someone said Olivia Grace which is a name I have LOVED for ever, but it is (very obviously) hugely popular and I'm not a big fan of that...plus I have a cousin with a 1 year old named Olivia (maybe even Olivia Grace, lol)
I also like Quinn for a girl, but DH has a friend with that last name that they call "Quinnie" so I'm not 100% against it, but it definately turned me off a little. Might go with Aurora Quinn if it's a girl this time around, but I do really like the name so I might save it for a 1st name later on
I like Trent and London for boys names, but DH doesn't love trendy names for boys so they will probably not get used, and all the family names for boys are (IMO) boring: Daniel (which will be our boys name, bc it's DH's name and he wants a jr), Paul, Robert, Brian, Walter....
As for Audrina, I agree that she'll fade quickly, and honestly it's not like she was Heidi or the other popular one (see, I can't even remember the names and I've seen the show a few times) so I say go for it! I decided on Aurora for a girl and later realized I totally have friends who live in Aurora, NY who laughed at me but I sooo don't care
BLOG
i love Dominic but DH hates it.
I also love Aurora, Isabella, Gianna and Jasmine but those are all names of my students.
I think you could definitely get away with using it. It's a very pretty name and her 15 mins of fame is up
For girls, I love Olivia, Emma, Ava, and Addison, but they are all way too popular. I love the name Harper for a girl but it kind of rhymes with our last name, so it's out.
For boys, I like Cooper and Carter, but they, again, don't work with our last name.
DH and I both love the name Jett for a boy, but our last name begins with Je- so when you put it together it sounds like you're stuttering.
And FWIW I love the name Audrina! I watched the Hills and admittedly it is the first thing I think of, but that won't last forever...and she's not one of the worst characters so I think it would be great!
