So DH installed our carseat a few days ago and he put it behind the passenger seat. Which is fine, I just always pictured it in the middle. But now that it is behind the passenger seat that seams to be the best place for it. Is there anything anywhere that says where the best place to put it is? Where did you put yours? TIA =D

Re: Where is your carseat?
We put ours in the middle in my car (it wouldn't fit on the sides anyways because I have a smaller car, and I had heard the middle was best), and DH has the base on the passenger side.
I was never sure, either, where to put it or where it is supposedly best to install.
In DH's car, it's behind the passenger seat. It was originally in the middle but we had to move it when we had it inspected. Something about the carseat handle clearning the front center console.
In my car, it's in the middle. However, I'm short and thinking that it's gonna be too difficult on my back to lift her in/out of the middle. I may end up moving it to the passenger side.
I have an SUV with three rows of seating. We put the carseat in the middle seat of the middle row, using the LATCH system. I know all cars are different though, so you should check your car's manual. Some don't let you use LATCH in the middle.
ETA: I was told middle seat was best, if possible, since it minimizes impact if there is a crash on either side.

We've also heard middle is safest, but for now it is behind the passenger seat. We don't have LATCH available in the middle, and I'm worried about being able to get the baby in and out easily... that is - IF he ever decides to show up.
(Yeah, yeah, I'm only 1 day late so far, but I'm bummed to not have a baby yet!)
