Licking envelopes for Christmas cards

I just sent out my Christmas cards but ended up licking about 25 envelopes shut. Now I'm over-thinking here, but I feel like maybe I shouldn't have done that! Why oh why did I not just moisten a sponge and do it that way?

These things just don't cross my mind sometimes till after I do them and then I sit and worry! I'm just a little annoyed with myself.

25 doesn't sound like that many. You didn't lick 125. I'm sure there's nothing bad in envelope glue and you probably only ingested a trace amount, if that. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ugh. I don't really know how people just lick envelopes. But I have a thing about spit. The grosses thing!

But at least now you're done with them! lol

I don't think it's a big deal, but in the future, just use a damp sponge. I do that anyway, pregnant or not, because I hate licking envelopes.

ETA: Just noticed you said you wish you had used a sponge. Well, you'll remember for next time!

My mom always told me to wet a paper towel, squeeze out all the water so it is just damp, then use that instead of your tongue. I can't stand the flavor so this is perfect for me.
