So, my 1 year anniversary is on Sunday...yay! Well, during the really bad storms we had here on the East Coast in March, we lost power for 4 days, which resulted in us losing most of our food, including our top tier of wedding cake. I was sort of happy about this, giving me a good reason to NOT eat a piece on our anniversary. That just sounds gross and nasty, and I'm sure if we still did have the cake, I wouldn't have had any regardless.
Did you have a bite of your wedding cake on your 1 year anniversary?
Re: 1 year anniversary - Did you eat the cake??
Nope, my parents dog got into it the day after the wedding. Oops. Happy almost anniversary!
The Inn we had our reception at had their own bakery and made our wedding cake. As an anniversary gift they gave us a free night stay and a GC for dinner at the restaurant. They also recreated the top tier of our cake. Normally, they freeze them and give it the night of the dinner. However, during the year they had an issue with their freezer and it was tossed. So, we lucked out and had a new delicious cake...
No - we had a huge food fight with it.
haha that sounds like the best way to use it!
Thank you!

Happy Anniversary!
We moved via roadtrip right after we got married so we didn't save it. We ate it ourselves a couple days after the wedding (when we could sit down and enjoy it!)
Yep - not as good as day of, but better than most store bought cake I've had (we had a back up in case it was gross).
Happy 1 year this weekend!!!
I am a decorator at a cake shop. We offer a free 6inch cake on the 1 year anniversary if someone ordered a cake from us. and we decorate it to look like the top tear of the original wedding cake.
I think its gross to eat a cake that has been frozen for a year and smushed by frozen chicken and veggies!
. I would contact the bakery you got your cake from and see if they offer a free cake on your anniversary. It doesn't hurt to ask.
Our first anniversary is in March, the cake is currently in MIL's freezer properly wrapped, so we'll atleast take a bite. I expect it to taste just as good as our wedding day.
On my mom's first wedding anniversary to my step-dad we ate her cake (from the same bakery mine is from) and it was just as good!
No we kept it for a few days after the Wedding not in the freezer cause we are living in a apartment and it won't fit in the freezer so we ate some of it after the Wedding, but then had to throw it out when it got bad
I refused to save it for the following year. That just sounded gross to me. I do wish I had gotten more of my wedding cake though - especially the tier that was carrot cake... mmmmm.... I think I only had a half piece of it at the reception when DH and I fed it to each other.
