My LO seems to want to eat every hour during the day. All my books say babies his age eat about every three hours.
It's not a growth spurt thing that only happens occasionally--this is all the time. He's in the 90th percentile for height and weight. This is my first baby so I don't know if this could be normal?
Re: 3 month old eats every hour
DD was diagnosed with reflux at 4 months and I think, in her case, her frequent nursing was her attempt to soothe her throat.
Will he take a pacifier? In case he's just comfort nursing sometimes...
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy
c/p 4/1/11
DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas

DS eats every hour, sometimes even more often during the day. Once in a while, he'll go 2 or 3 hours if we are out of the house running errands, but if we're home, he eats all.the.time. I don't mind though - he used to eat by the books, and woke up every 2 hours all night - once he started the hourly feeding, he started sleeping much better at night. He wakes every hour from about 8 - 11, but then usually usually sleeps at least 6 - 8 hours. If he skips a feeding during the day though, he makes up for it at night.
I'd say as long as you are okay feeding him so often, no biggie - if it's really killing you, you can try slowly spacing out his feedings each day until he's going 2-3 hours.
