I had an ultrasound yesterday at 36 weeks 5 days and our baby girl is in a transverse position (essentially breech) where she is laying diagonally with her head up near my ribs. The doc tried some gentle palpation to twist her, but the moment she released pressure Kennedy twisted back up. The plan is to check her position via u/s next Tues. and if she hasn't turned, the doc will do an ECV in the hospital, which I am not looking forward to. My doc will give her one week after that to stay down and hopefully get my cervix dilating (I'm currently 0 cm. and 0% effaced), but if she twists back up, then she'll do another ECV and induce labor while they have her head down. I'm kind of bumming about the whole thing because I desperately want to avoid a c-section and my chances of that just got a lot slimmer. Apparently my little girl is as stubborn as I am.
Does anyone else out there currently have a transverse/breech baby? And if so, how far along are you?
Re: My stubborn baby girl
I'm from the Jan board and my little girl is also stubborn....she's frank breech and I go back next Friday to see if she flips. I've been doing everything possible to try and get her to flip and I'm seeing a chiopractor tomorrow to see if an adjustment will get her to move. If she's still breech I then have to decide if I want to do the ECV...I'm not to thrilled about it and hoping she changes on her own but if not we might give it a shot.
Good luck
Good thing you still have time, hope she turns for you ::fingers crossed::
