I am trying to get a routine down with the twins starting now. Here is what i do now & what i want to incorp. The times vary as they wake at different times
First morn wake - 7-8am - Change diaper, feed, burp, put back down
10-11am - change diaper, feed, burp, wash up with wash cloth & cream, put back down
1-2pm - change diaper, feed, burp, playtime for 30 mins, put back down
4-5 - change diaper, feed, burp, take a walk or go for a drive (not everyday tho), put back down
7-8 - Bath tub bath, feed, burp, into jammy's, put back down (with this feeding i am going to try to put them in their cribs to read to them then move to pack n play -they only sleep in their bouncies at the moment so i want to try to get them into pack n play or cribs. So eventually read them a book and put to sleep)
10-11 - last feed, change diaper, feed, burp, put back down - I really want to eliminate this feed but don't want to get up 2x's a night (i find it easier to stay up so i'm only up once a night for feedings)
One usually gets up around 2:30am so i give them a binky and put them back to sleep unless they really fuss then i feed them. usually they go back down. Horrible thing is a sometimes I bring one of them to bed with me :0. I know this is bad but they sleep soooo sound and for soooo long. I want to get out of this habit though.
Next time they get up is 4ish..change, feed, burp, put back down (sometimes takes 2hrs!!) and they wake up at 7 or 8am.
What is your schedule and is there anything is should do differently? Any tips, tricks etc?? I am open to anything at all. Thanks!!
Re: Please advise what daily schedules you have for 2-3 mos olds
This is our current schedule.
6:45 feed, change, waketime
8:00 nap
10:30 feed, change, waketime
11:45 nap
2:30 feed, change, waketime
3:45 nap
6:00 feed, change, waketime
7:45 bath
8:00 feed, bed
I usually put them in the same places (either pnp or crib) for naps. If they fall asleep in the swing or bouncy I try to move them. I usually put the down drowsy. At bedtime I swaddle and don't give binkies or else they'don't give binkies cause they'd cry everytime it fell out. I swaddle at night with one arm out right now. Put them down drowsy and they suck on their fingers til they fall asleep. Sometimes Charlotte will cry for about 5 mintues...but that's it. One of them (usually Charlotte) always wake up between 4 or 5 and I give them the binky then and unswaddle and flip onto their bellies because they much prefer sleeping that way. They do sleep on their bellies for most naps too (but I am never far and they can roll and have good head control).
Do you wake them up for the 10-11 feeding? I did a dreamfeed at that time for a while and cut it out when they were only nursing for about 5-8 minutes. When I go rid of it they had no problem! I also used to put them to bed later but have been slowly trying to make bedtime earlier.
