Was there a reason behind selecting that date? We wanted an earlier date in the summer, however it was the only available date at the church, and we needed a summer wedding, as this was dh's first year teaching.
How many of you had attendants that wanted to kick out before the wedding? We only had 1 bridesmaid that started trouble. Apparently, she told my sil what a horrible nasty biotch I am, and then was all shocked when it got back to me.
How many months did it take you to plan your wedding? 9 months
How much did it cost? around $15k. It wasn't much, but it was really nice.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Captiva Island, Florida. It was wonderful!
Are you still going strong? Yup, still happily married.

Was there a reason behind selecting that date? We started out with a date in Dec. 2008 but my Grandfather had surgery in Nov. and I really wanted him there and the soonest they would let him travel was June 2009

Was there a reason behind selecting that date? It was six months from the proposal and we were ready to live together but wouldn't until we got married. Six months seemed like long enough to plan a wedding but not too long to wait to be together as man and wife.

Was there a reason behind selecting that date? We originally had memorial day weekend but had to move it to December due to DH getting a job out of state.

Was there a reason behind selecting that date? We got engaged in July. I really wanted a fall wedding but there wasn't time to do it that fall and I wasn't willing to wait over a year for the following fall. I also didn't want a summer wedding, so after considering the required minimum 6 month engagement period at our church, we settled on Feb.
How many of you had attendants that wanted to kick out before the wedding? I never wanted to kick her out, but one of my bridesmaids had a penchant for turning a lot of the focus on herself. She also told me that my chest looked red and rashy about 6 minutes before I was to walk down the aisle (it did a little because I had been tanning, but it wasn't bad at all and she shouldn't have said anything!)
How many months did it take you to plan your wedding? Our engagement was just about 7 months long, but I had most of the plans in place within the first month. If it had been allowed by our church, we honestly could have been married in the fall like I wanted - I didn't need all that time.
How much did it cost? I like to say about $15k but if I'm being honest, it was probably more around $20k
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Mexico and it's my biggest regret about the whole thing. If I could do it all over again, we'd go on a cruise.

Was there a reason behind selecting that date? We wanted a summer wedding in July, and it was either the 1st or the 29th and we picked the 29th because it wasn't around the 4th of July.
How many of you had attendants that wanted to kick out before the wedding? none, all 6 of my bridesmaids were great and all got along.
How many months did it take you to plan your wedding? We were engaged for 3 yrs, but we got engaged when DH was still in college and we waited until he graduated and had a decent job. It took us about 14-15 mos to plan from start to finish.
How much did it cost? It was probably around 25k, all said and done.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? We did a Western Carribean cruise for a week. It was awesome!
Are you still going strong? Yes, still married...and loving life.

How many of you had attendants that wanted to kick out before the wedding? My MOH, we're not even friends anymore. The only thing I regret about my wedding was having keeping her as my MOH. I really wish I would've asked my SIL.

How much did it cost? I honestly can't remember, ballpark, I'd say around $20K. We didn't follow the "traditional" rules of who pays for what though.

Was there a reason behind selecting that date? DH had just finished the police academy and they were filing out next of kin paperwork and told them the stats on how many cops die a year in the city he worked in. After that he said.. "why are we waiting for some stupid venue lets go to the courthouse this friday and get married" so we did then told our family what they did.. they freaked so we had a "real" wedding for them a year later to the date.

Are you still going strong? Umm i would say yes! We are still best friends but we have our ups and downs lately. We never expected twins so we are still trying to get back on our feet. We always planned on me working and not having such a high DC cost so i became a SAHM and he works insane hours. In the end i couldnt never live w/o him and he feels the same. we are best friends!

Was there a reason behind selecting that date? It's a long story, but here goes: DH and I both have birthdays on the 12th of our respective months. So there is the 12. DH and I are four years apart, so there is the the fourth month of the year. And then DH was born in 72 and I was born in 76. 2 plus 6 equals 8, as in 2008. Lucky for us, 4-12-08 landed on a Saturday. yes, i am a bona fide numbers freak.

She was super flaky for the beginning of our engagement, so I ended up kicking her out via email - because she refused to call me back or meet up with me. Ugh.

Where did you go on your honeymoon? Sandals Grand St Lucia. It was the grossest place ever. I wrote a 4 page letter to Sandals, they gave us a free trip to Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica. I've come to the realization that Sandals is only nice if you're in your early 20's and love to drink. That way you don't notice, you're on an island and have no access to seafood.

How much did it cost? About 8k We skipped the caterer and did a late evening ceremony with a desert bar and drinks We had 120 guests so it would have more than doubled our costs. We did everything on the cheap, but it was the wedding of my dreams. My parents paid for everything, but I knew they didn't have a lot of money. We got our flowers from Pike Place Market the day before and spent $50 on flowers and arranged them ourselves. Hired a friend as a bartender, and my dad's buddies from high school still have a band and they did our wedding for super cheap. Hired a photography student for $500, she took over 700 photos and edited about 100 that we selected together and gave them all to us on discs. Everything was PERFECT!!

Was there a reason behind selecting that date? Not really. It happened to be the week we booked the all-inclusive resort, so we just picked that day. We had been discussing a memorial day weekend wedding, though not yet officially engaged, when I found out I was pregnant. Getting married at 8 1/2 mo pregnant sounded like a bad idea so we moved it up.
How many of you had attendants that wanted to kick out before the wedding? My sister was my only attendant so it wasn't a problem. My two BFFs were both pregnant too, so they didn't mind not being in the wedding.

Reading all of these other responses makes me feel like my wedding looks sad. But really, it wasn't, we had a lot of fun. DH and I really low-key people and had seriously put off getting married (been living together for 4 1/2 years when we got married) because we didn't want some big show and we knew that our families would. Getting pregnant was the perfect excuse for us to keep it fast, small and low-key. It was really stressful to get married and buy a house while pregnant, but so worth it in the end.
