Poll: What PNV do you take?

I chose PruEt DHA, which is two pills - 1 vitamin, 1 DHA capsule.  I chose it because I like what is in the vitamin, but the DHA is fish-based so I am using another DHA supplement because of the dreaded fish burps. SO gross.

I'd like to find an all-in-one that has everything so I don't have to take 2 pills.

What do you take and why?

ETA: PruEt is a prescription PNV. If you take a prescription one, what is the brand or generic name?

Re: Poll: What PNV do you take?

  • I was taking Target generic PNV's based on  lurking on TTGP.  My doc gave me a prescription PNV which is free for me so now I'm taking those.

  • I was taking the one-a-day combos - there were also 2 horse pills to take each day... it caused quite a bit of tummy upset and gagged me to try to swallow - so I switched to PNV gummies I found at Walmart - they have DHA in them also - MUCH BETTER!!
  • Vitafusion Gummies from Target!  They are so much better than the sushi burp inducing/nausea causing one-a-days!  My dr's office said they will give me some samples though and I can try others if they don't think the gummies have enough of what I need---I'm just going to take them to my appointment.

  • Prenatal One (from Target). One in the morning.

  • I take the generic Target brand, once a day at night.

  • My dr.gave me about 12 different types of samples to try. They are horse pills. I have not tried them yet. Every time I intend to, I get queezy and worried that the large pill will induce gagging/throwing up. I take target up & up instead.

  • Just a tip for you guys with your DHA supplements. Freeze them! It doesn't affect the quality of the omega oils and it can stop the fishy burps because the capsules tend to break down further along in your digestive tract. I've been doing it for years and most of the time it works quite well.

I take the One a Day Women's Formula, and then supplement it with a B complex, folate, Vit. D, and Omega 3's. How many Omega 3's are you ladies taking per day? I take 8 - 4 AM; 4PM

  • My dr prescribed Prenate Essentials...I take it with my lunch. No problems, no complaints. No fishy burps. I get it filled at a CVS pharmacy in CA. Idk if you have CVS where you live.

  • I'm taking Prenexa, it's a prescription from my old OB. I really like them b/c they have DHA and are really easy going down, but they must have reformulated b/c when I picked up the last script, they were so much more expensive! If I didn't have prescription coverage, there's no way I'd be getting them. I've also taken Rainbow Light and been ok with those.

  • Just the regular Target prenatal. I took it with my son. I've also had friends who have taken two Flintstone chewables when they couldn't stomach the horse pills and my ob has said the same thing too.

My doc gave me 6 different samples to try, I think I'm going to get a script for PreNexa too.  Luckily I have RX coverage...

I am considering going back to Prenexa (what I started on with samples). The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have B1, 2 or 3...  but my husband (who is a pharmacist) and my dad (OB/GYN) said B1, 2 and 3 are in so many foods that you really don't need a supplement. Plus, the chocolate taste and ease going down was really nice, and its only 1 pill!
