This is my first day with my ring sling (SBP) and so far I *love* it -- it's so much easier to wrangle than my Sleepy wrap, it's so beautiful and soft, and it's so much more comfortable too! (after an hour or so, my Sleepy would hurt my back -- I didn't think the RS would be more supportive but somehow it is -- I think because I can make it so tight).
But...
So my baby HATES the cradle position (why I sent back the Hotsling I bought last week) so I thought I'd try tummy to tummy (which was what she's used to in my Sleepy wrap), and it works great, except how to I support her head? She's getting better head control but she's still not solid, and in the Sleepy, I could always tuck her head under the shoulder fabric and go hands free -- that's not an option in a RS, is it? How can I bring the fabric up high enough?
Re: Newborn positioning in RS ?
Thanks, guys!
I don't know how I had her differently positioned today but somehow she was kind of leaned forward and didn't need head support -- I don't know how that happened. I can try making the inside pocket shorter, I guess? I don't know how high it has to come up on the inside. It's just when I tighten it enough across her shoulder, Her head is ABOVE the rings in corsage position. so I'm not sure how to make it go that high?
I still heart my RS so much... I never thought I'd like it more than my Sleepy, but it's so much more comfy!
Awesome. I think that's what I'm doing, or at least what I accomplished today.
I'm not sure my sling is quite as wide as the sakuras. It's a SBP.
