food dehydrators

I have a 9 tray Excalibur Dehydrator and I was wondering if any of you have dried veggies enough that you could powder them in the food processor/blender?  I got the new catalog from them today and they mention making baby food on the go using powdered veggies from the dehydrator and breast milk!  I thought this was brilliant and wanted to know if anyone has ever done it before and if you liked the results!  I know I am only 19 weeks...but this just got me thinking about starting a stash of powered veggies that I could use for baby food and for soups/sauces/whatever!

Re: food dehydrators

  • We've never done it for baby food but we've done it for backpacking trips with great results. For baby food, I just made the food either right before DS1 would eat or if I had too much, I would freeze it.
