We had a scare this weekend that ended up with rushing to the ER. Saturday afternoon I went to the bathroom and found that I was bleeding very badly. We went to the ER and had blood drawn, and ultrasound, and a few other tests. The doctor cautiously gave us a 25% chance of miscarriage at this point but advised us that the baby measured exactly 6 weeks, my beta number was in the 30k range and there was a heartbeat. Which is all very promising. He said that I am hemoraging from the baby trying to break through the placenta. I was under the impression that by 6 weeks this had already taken place but maybe I read that wrong. Either way he told me to rest and stay off my feet and we just have to wait and see. There is nothing they can do at this point.

My first OB appt is still scheduled for next Monday and we should know more then.

I pray constantly that I can stay with you ladies and everything turns out fine.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything is ok at your appointment on Monday.

Like PP said you have a 75% chance that everything is ok. I know it's hard, but try to focus on that.

T+P. I had this happen at 6 1/2 weeks as well but i was also passing clots and then it just stopped. I was told the same thing at the ER that it was "threatened M/C" I went to my OB 2 days later for my 1st appt and she said it was just like a "bruise or scab" from the baby implanting that fell off on started bleeding and it would stop and be fine in no time. she was right i'm almost 10 weeks now and haven't spotted since a couple days after that. hope all goes well.
