I had my yearly exam about 7 weeks after my baby girl was born. Got a phone call about 2 weeks later saying not to be worried but I would have to come in for a "re pap" because it was inconclusive. My Dr. told me that he may not have scraped enough and that could be the reason? I haven't had a problem with a pap in the last 6 years and wonder if the pregnancy could have had anything to do with it? Its been a week since the second test and I can not wait to hear from the Doctor......fingers crossed, everything is okay!
Re: Anyone have a "inconclusive" pap following the birth of your baby?
I would question why your OB is doing a pap just 7 weeks after giving birth. My doc checked me out at my 6 week visit and I requested a pap due to my history (Mom died of Ovarian cancer at 28). He said he can do it but it would most likely come back abnormal as I just gave birth. He stated he does not suggest doing a pap with sample until 6 months after birth and scheduled me to come back in 6 months. I questioned this advice and got a 2nd & 3rd opinion. Both doctors said the same thing wait 6 months.
