I am not sure how to plan a schedule of milk and meals, and will be transitioning soon. since i have to pack a day's worth for daycare, I'd love to know what exactly I should be packing. I currently pack three 8 oz bottles of formula and two "meals" -breakfast upon arrival and lunch.
Re: 1 year olds who drink cows milk -post your feeding shedule
Wake up at 6 a.m. and give her 6 oz. of milk
Breakfast immediately after - bananas, cheerios, etc.
10 a.m. - milk in a sippy
11/11:30 - lunch
2/3 p.m. - snack and sippy of milk
6 p.m. - dinner and water to drink
8 p.m. - bottle of milk and bed
During the in-between times I have a sippy of water that she drinks from here and there.
Roughly this:
6:30/7ish-- up, 5 oz. milk and a banana. She used to also eat 4 oz. of yogurt, but is starting to refuse (anything spoon-fed), so I may up that milk.
9-10ish--nap
10ish-- some cheerios for snack
12ish-- lunch, with another 5 oz. of milk (lunch is usually pb on a tortilla or chicken, with some fruit and some veggie)
1:30ish--nap
3:30ish--some cheese for snack
6ish-- dinner (whatever we have) with another 5 oz. milk.
Bedtime is 6:30/7ish.
She has a sippy of water available all day, and drinks about 5ish oz. of water throughout the day. Now that she's refusing anything by spoon (which was 4 oz. of dairy in the yogurt), I may add an ounce of milk to each feeding, so she gets enough dairy.
We've done the same thing since she turned one:
Wake up (6:15) - 7 oz, breakfast an hour later
Before nap (12:15) - 7 oz, lunch right before
Before bed - (7:15) - 7 oz, dinner right before
She also gets about 3 snacks a day.
I think after this weekend we're down to just one bottle a day, first thing in the morning.
wake up - 7-8 oz. milk in bottle.
mid-morning - sippy of milk
lunch - water and/or whatever's left of snack sippy of milk
mid-afternoon - snack and sippy of milk
dinner - water & whatever's left of milk from afternoon snack.
the pedi said he needed anywhere from 16-20 oz. of milk (or "dairy," i guess), so that just about covers it.
