If so, what kind of pets do you have? Names? Age?
How do you think they will react to a baby?
If you already have kids, how did they react when you brought LO home and how do you think they will react to another in the house?

We have a cat, a Turkish Van, short domestic mix, Sgt. Pepper, age 6 (we call him Precious) he is scared of babies, but I'm hoping he'll come around.
We also have a golden doodle dog, Daisy, age 14 months and she loves children to bits. Her favourite thing to do is play with my 2 year old nephew and give him lots of kisses. She's gonna be great.
Re: GTKY: Do you have pets?
We have sophie 8 year old rotty/shepard mix sweetest dog ever she likes kids enough but i think they are a little to crazy for her sometimes as she gets older.
2 cats 4 year old tri color calico and a 2 year old siamese they are both sweet and spoiled little cat brats. They will be fine though they usually sleep anyway. My biggest concern is how curious they are and they might try to get in the crib so i have to buy something to put around it so they can't get in.
We have two cats - Reilly (in my sig) and Lila.
They don't mind babies when we babysit. They tend to circle them with about a foot or two radius just being curious. And they love that babies come with all sorts of dangly toys
I will say that they for sure know I'm pregnant! They have been glued to me since about a week before I got my postiive test. They've turned into such little lovebugs!
If so, what kind of pets do you have? Names? Age? We have a big orange/white cat named Ziggy, but we call him "Son," haha. He was a stray, so we estimate that he's about 2 y/o now. He's definitely our first child!
How do you think they will react to a baby? It's hard to say. I have a feeling he'll be jealous and not happy when we don't allow him in our bedroom at night once the baby comes.
If you already have kids, how did they react when you brought LO home and how do you think they will react to another in the house? n/a
Yup, we have two corgis. Mollie (10) and Abby (almost 3).
Abby will love it, she loves kids and anytime she hears a crying baby she is like a homing becon and must go and rescue baby. Mollie might be upset as to the change of hours and change of routine, but she is very mellow and should be great with kids. We've been trying to expose them as much to our friend's babies so that they don't freak out too much when one of their own comes home.
Ohhh yours too! mine are usually cuddle bugs with MH but lately they lay alllllll over my belly!
I have a 13 year old cat named Tracer, who is afraid of everything. She might not like the baby at first, but her MO is to stay away when she doesn't like something, so it shouldn't be a problem.
I have a 3 year old Cat, Yoda, who is spoiled and thinks he is our child. He may be tough. But he is pretty well trained for a cat so he will likely learn the baby is off limits quick.

We have Beelz who is a rescue special or mutt and is 9 months old. Hadley is about 3 years old Pitbull mix. Tigger is a 9 year old calico cat.
How do you think they will react to a baby?
Tigger will probably avoid it. Beelz and Hadley like kids (well they love everyone) but they may be too rough for a baby but I think they will do well. We are going to start introducing them to more babies once we can tell people.
If you already have kids, how did they react when you brought LO home and how do you think they will react to another in the house no kids yet.If so, what kind of pets do you have? Names? Age?
We have two Ragdoll cats, a girl and a boy, named Gabby and Theo. Theo turned 3 years old yesterday and Gabby turns 3 tomorrow! (Same breeder, two different litters.) They are huge and I adore them--they're my babies. They will always be allowed in our bedroom, no matter what, and probably the baby's bedroom too, despite all the flying cat hair everywhere. We also have a black lab/beagle mix that we rescued from a shelter. His name is Cooper and he's about 2. He is sweet but is not allowed on our upper level in the bedrooms.
How do you think they will react to a baby?
The cats are very curious and dog-like. When a friend had her 6 month old boy at our house, they walked right up to him and sniffed him. They will probably enjoy cuddling with the baby at some point.
The dog doesn't like it when the attention isn't on him. But he behaves pretty well. He gave our friend's baby a couple licks. Oh and once he did the "play bow" (when a dog invites another dog to play) with the baby while he was in his carrier. I'm not sure if he thought the baby was another dog or what, but it was pretty funny. I think Cooper will handle a new baby fairly well but he'll definitely be hyper aware of the change. He will also have to learn not to steal all the baby's toys, which he did with our friend's baby.
Haha! i feel like thats how my cats will be Cullen will go running to find out why the baby is crying!
We have 2 cats, Ringo and Lenny. Ringo is 6 and Lenny is around 4 or so.
When we brough DS home from the hosiptal we set him on the floor in his carseat so they could go up and smell him. And honestly, they could have cared less. They just smelled him and then walked away.
Now that my son is 2 he is more active with them. Ringo doesn't have anything to do with him, but Lenny just lets him try to pick him up, pet him, whatever. Again, he could care less.
We have 1 dog (in my siggy). His name is Tyson and he is almost 9. He is such a mama's boy since we got married and moved into our house last year.
I'm not sure how he will react to a baby. He's been around when MH's 2 nieces were born, but that was already 5 years ago. I have a good feeling that he will be following the baby anywhere s/he goes. If there is a rug in the baby's roon, Tyson will be there. He's pretty calm overall, so I think he'll be okay.
If so, what kind of pets do you have? Names? Age?
We have two dogs (see siggy) Madison is a 9 yr old Boston Terrier and Sophie is an 8 yr old Boxer.
How do you think they will react to a baby?
They are totally spoiled and have been our babies for a long time. I think the boxer will be very sweet and loving but I think the Boston will be jealous and quite upset by the new addition. She is a momma's girl and doesnt share well.
Needless to say we have not broke the news to them yet.
We have 2 kitties, pictured in my siggy. Stewie (aka Fatty) and Lula (aka Baby Kitty or Satan...she has an evil stare). They're brother and sister and just over 2yrs old.
Like someone else said of their cats, they are very much like dogs, very lovey, cuddly, sleep woth us at night, they come running when their names are called, they are just awesome.
They are both very curious and I think will do a lot of investigating when baby stuff starts making its way into house and when LO arrives. Lula is a little more patient and adventurous and I think will be more interested in LO while Stewie is a big fat fraidy cat and will probably run from it...he does this when my 4 year old niece is over while Lula plays with her and her toys.
We have 2 cats, both are domestic shorthair, black and white and 5 years old.
Patch is the queen of the house, but I think she will keep her distance from the baby. Bailey, however, is a mommas boy. He has to be in my lap or snuggling with me at all times. He will not be pleased to share my lap. I can see him acting out.
My girls are in my siggy.
Chloe the Yorkie is 2 yrs.
Duchess the pom sitting on my chest as I type is 1 year.
Duchess will be fine. She is the sweetest most friendly dog. Chloe doesn't love kids but I am thinking she will be fine because once baby gets to toddler age she will know it as a part of the family and be good.
My dogs are my babies. MIL said she feels bad for them now that a baby will be coming. I fully plan to give my dogs their love and attention still. After all, they sleep in the bed with us and I am against letting a newborn sleep in our bed with all the roll over stories I have been hearing...so sleepy time will still be puppy cuddle time. lol
BLOG
Sammy, 5 year old chocolate lab (see siggy). He's the sweetest, most gentle dog ever, a huge baby. I think he will be really curious about the baby, and I think he will be protective. It's really cute, he's protective of me also, not in an aggressive way, but he's just always by my side.
When he's around children in our neighborhood, he lays down on his side for them and wags his tail. He was around my friend's crying 8 week old this summer, and just tried to lick his feet.
Cali, a 13 yr old lab mix that wouldn't hurt a flea
Tebow, a CRAZY 1 year old German Short Haired Pointer that will need to be yelled at daily to leave the baby alone!
We have a 5 yr old daughter and both dogs are fine with her but the puppy is a puppy and tends to get crazy.
When our daughter was born we had Cali and Jedi, a pitbull/lab mix (who was put down last year due to cancer). We walked in, set the baby carrier on the floor and let them both smell her for a few minutes before we even took her out. They were fine and Jedi used to jump on our bed and cry if our daughter started to whine in her crib! He was great with her.
We have a small zoo...but we couldn't imagine it any other way!
Olive - 7 year old black and tan mini daschund. She is the Queen Bee around here, so I think she is going to have a hard time with having attention taken off of her. However, she does really great with my friends and cousin's kids when they come over...I think she will be fine. She will probably like the fact that she will be able to lick the baby's face and eat the scraps left on the floor!
Dexter - 5 year old long hair dapple mini daschund. He is just a love bug, so I know he is going to be great with the baby. Same with Olive, he is going to love to lick the baby.
Owen - almost 7 year old orange tabby. He is super shy, but is a complete mama's boy. He has been laying on my stomach every night before I go to bed.
I think he will be kind of freaked out by the baby, but get used to it after a bit.
Kiko - 6 year old calico. She is such a sassy little thing, I think she is going to be super ticked about a new baby and "talk" to me a lot. I can also see her crying when the baby cries. She kind of mothers the other cats, so she might always be with me when I am with the baby.
Benny - 6 year old gray and white short hair. He has cerebella hyperplasia, so he is more like a dog, than a cat. He isn't shy or phased by much, so I think he will be just fine. He will probably stick around the baby a lot too.
We have a Golden retriever mix we rescued named Gunner, he is about 5 years old.
When we brought our LO he didn't really care either way. He now loves Gabe and I think Gabe gives Gunner more kisses than he does me. We also had a 9 year old boxer (Ariel) when we brought Gabe home and she just loved him. She was kind of our little babysitter. She would lay next to him if he was on the floor, or sit and lick him if we let her. She just recently passed away this summer, so baby #2 will never get to meet her. She was definatly our first "Kid"
We have Dunkin, he is a 3 yr old Yorkie Poodle. He loves my nieces and nephews and I really don't think he will be anything but lovey to the baby.
We have a little 4-year old chihuahua mix named Callie. She is our baby for the time being, so we're very nervous how she's going to react when we bring a baby home. On the plus side, she loves our niece and loved our two little neighbor girls. I guess we'll see!
We also have fish, but I tell DH those are all his!
We have an 8 year old boxer, Lola, who loves kids and will be fine.
Our other dog is Jenkins. He is a 3 year old brussels griffon and he is afraid of kids. He's little and wouldn't hurt a flea, but he runs away and hides whenever there are kids around. I'm hoping this will change over time.
Yes, I have 3 American Cocker Spaniels.
Lulu is 12
Annastacia is 5
Sohpia Rose is 5 months
I think they will all do fine with a baby, maybe a little over excited as Anna and Sohpia love to bark at anything new, Lulu, well she is really old, and mostly deaf and blind so i do not think she will mind or even notice a baby. But i think overall the dogs will be great with a Baby, as they are wonderful with our 10 year old son.
We have two dogs:
7y/o boxer beagle mix who is a lovebug - but really needy lol some may say co-dependent :P so not sure how he will do w baby...probably snuggle up a lot to us...or maybe baby.
3 y/o boston terrier - he didnt like the baby sounds...he is super jealous of his older doggy brother so - we shall see ... I am going to at some point carry around a fake baby/blankey while playing the noises (although not the same I hope it'll help).
We have 5 fish tanks with tropical fish that are really excited to have another gawker soon
They really enjoy my little cousin growing up but they were mostly exposed to him at around toddler age (2-3ish) b/c thats when we got our boston and got married and started bringing the dogs back to my hometown with us (in MA)
We have Zoey, our 12 year old Siamese cat. ?She's a doll but she's a total chicken around other animals or anyone new. ?She's extremely sweet and gentle so she'll love the baby once she gets used to him/her.
?
We also have Rocky, our 1 year old yellow lab. ?He's still very much a puppy so he's still pretty rambunctious (sp). ?He gets very excited around kids and tends to knock them over if we're not careful, but once he gets used to their smell he relaxes and just wants to lay down at their feet. ?We plan to keep the dog out of the baby's room until he gets used to him or her being in the house. ?The vet says labs tend to calm down after their 2nd birthday anyway. ?
One dog - the cutie in my siggy. His name is Chester and he's 3.
I don't think he's gonna be happy to be replaced as the 'baby' in the family, but he's pretty mellow. I need to find some tips to get him ready.
Yep...I have 2 Jack Russells (Lilly-7 & Scrappy-9) & A Westie-poo (Petie-8) who thinks he's a Jack Russell. They are all three super cute. Lilly is a tricolor, Scrappy has the brownish-red face mask with all white body & Petie is apricotish.
Of the three Scrappy (one of the Jacks) is probably actually the most laid back. My DH when we 1st started daiting actually thought Scrappy was a realistic stuffed pet because he is so lazy. I promise I've never met another Jack quite like him. I honestly think he will be indifferent to the baby when it arrives.
Now Lilly & Petie are jumping beans ....and constantly need attention. I think they will be very interested in the new arrival & I will have to once again hire the local dog nanny to make them behave.
