Bleeding after weekly exam? TMI

I am 36 weeks and had my first weekly appointment yesterday.  Of course a wonderful exam was included in this appointment.  The Dr. says I have dialated 1 cm.  Well, about an hour after my appointment I felt a small gush and went to the bathroom.  I noticed a lot of pinkish dischage.  And then continued to have a little bit of pink discharge for the rest of the day. 

Is this normal after an exam?  Was this my mucus plug?  I was very concerned at first but since it stopped I haven't called the dr. or anything.  Now everything is normal.

    Light bleeding or spotting is normal from what my MW tells me, but if it continues (or even if you're concerned) call up your doc.

    I believe it's normal.  My cervix is sensitive because of the pregnancy, so i bleed when they use all thier instruments.  I'd call to be safe, but thats just me...but odds are you were just sensntive =)

    This is totally normal after an exam-- just like spotting after sex-- since they do a lot of poking around up there.  As long as it's pinkish and goes away after a while, there should be no cause for concern. But if it gets heavier or turns red, definitely call the doctor.

    Yes, this is normal after an exam. I had my internal exam and started bleeding almost immediately and did so for a few days there after. It also caused to lose my MP a few days later.
