I have a chicco stroller (part of the travel system) and want a lightweight stroller and a jogger. I was going to get a BOB revolution and a Maclaren Triumph. But then I saw the Bumbleride Indie. I just can't imagine having three strollers for one baby!!!! So I thought maybe the Bumbleride is the answer to my question. What do you guys think and does anyone have a bumbleride inde?
Also, if any of you are new mom to be's, I would say forgo the travel systems and get a britax car seat from 5-70 lbs and one good all purpose stroller and maybe one lightweight one. I will never buy a travel system again. My DD is three months old and is about to outgrow her chicco car seat and I really don't like the stroller all that much. I wish I had known!!
Re: bumbleride or maclaren and bob / advice for new moms about travel systems!
Sorry, but I have to disagree here. We loved our infant seat and I was sooooo sad when he outgrew it at 8 mos. This time around, I went for the bigger Chicco Keyfit 30 so hopefully we can get a little longer use out of it. Also, there is no way I would have wanted to put a newborn in a big old convertable- I just don't see anyway that could have been comfortable. Not to mention having to wake the baby everytime you want to take them in/out. OMG, no way. I do agree that a travel system is not necessarily the best option though. I loved mine with DS and still use that stroller, but this time I'm just using a snap n go and I'm pretty sure I will be just as happy.
I understand what you are saying, Now do you have an answer to my question about bumblerides??
I'm sorry your baby is little or medium, but mine is in the 98th percentile for length and weight and is outgrowing her seat quicker than I thought. From a financial standpoint, I stand behind my advice, no one ever talked about this happening and I thought I could warn mothers that this does indeed happen. Also, I don't think I would want to lug around a 30lb baby and the carseat. My poor back!! 22lbs is heavy enough! Now about the convertables, the britax marathons are quite nice and very comfy, I got my idea from a friend who has a newborn seated quite comfortably in her seat, there are adapters and extra cushioning for smaller babies that come with the seat.
I have the bumbleride indie and I LOVE IT!!!! It is a great stroller; it does not advertise itself as a true jogger but it has all the capabilities of other joggers I have researched and is a joy to use (and look at)!
I do use it with a car seat though, it comes with the adapter bar and is compatible with a list of carseats so I have the ease of using my Graco infant seat and base in the car without having to buy the stroller too!
I do not have a bumbleride but it is on my list of doubles to look at. I like that it has a big basket, a good recline, a large canopy, and so many other little extras.
I have a Maclaren that I am getting rid of. I am not a big fan of the two handles instead of one bar. I like to push with one hand. I also dont like how my canopy has gotten dirty from how the front wheels end up folded into it.
I like Bob and plan on comparing it to the Bumbleride. I will say it is nice that the Bob has a better suspension to jog with but if you don't really jog than that is a mute point.
Good Luck!
good point about the mac, i didn't think about that...
And I want the stroller for power walking- lol- my boobs are still too big to jog!
Thanks a lot! I think the indie it is! Now I am watching for sales on all websites! hopefully...:)
