1st Trimester

Anyone else already reading parenting books?

I should probably be reading more books on pregnancy, but instead I am reading parenting books instead.

Three good ones so far:

* Playful Parenting

* Unconditional Parenting

* The Self-Confident Baby.

Any other book recommendations? They could be for pregnancy or parenting.

  • I started reading Mayo Clinics Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy last night.  It's a week by week guide to what you are experiencing I got it over a year ago when we first started TTC and it's been sitting in my drawer ready to be cracked open.

    This is a very smart thing to do. I wish I had thought of that with my first. It was really hard to read parenting books when you have a newborn (and if you are like me and knew nothing about babies). I read the Baby Whisperer and will prob start re-reading soon.

  • This is my advice to first time pregnant friends.  Pregnancy will take care of its self.  It is so much harder to sit down and read once you have a newborn.  Happiest Baby on the Block is good for the first 3 months.  Health Sleep Habits, Happy, Health Child is also very good.

  • Thanks so much for the books suggestions! I figured I better start reading now, while I have the time and energy. :)))

  • Have you thought about if you'll BF or FF?  If you're considering BF, the LLL Guide to BF is really good, same with Child of Mine: Feeding with Love and Good Sense (great book about feeding in general) as well as the other books the PP's mentioned: Baby Whisperer, HBOTB, etc...
