I like mine (Lynn) because it is tradtional yet not very popular/common at all.
And no one ever mispronounces it.
My name is Allie. "Just Allie." I've grown to like it a lot.
I don't like that I have a nickname for a full name. That was always obnoxious growing up. I was called Allison and Alyssa regardless, even if I corrected people. My sister is "just Lexi," and so we both got "Alexis" because we looked alike and were close in age, so I think people were just covering their bases.
On the flipside, though, while I like my name, I hate every full name that allows for the NN Allie. I think Allison is one of the least-pretty names there is for a girl, and am thankful it's not my name.
I like the sound of my name. There's something very soft and feminine about it (the double Ls, I imagine), and I like that.
I like my given name (Brianna) because I am one of very, very few people anywhere near my age with it, so I've never had to "share" it and because it has a very special meaning to my mother--I've always loved she put so much thought into choosing my name. However, since it's popularity boost in the 90s, it has been mispronounced and misspelled dozens upon dozens of times and I now associate it mostly with trashy and/or poorly educated people. That aspect bothers me so much that I now go by Kate.
Katherine is the first of my two middle names and I love it. The diminutives are fantastic (except Kathy, which I'm sorry to say I hate virulently) and it can really take on any personality. Kate is even better, I think. I wouldn't consider it for my children because it has become popular/trendy, but I never fail to receive compliments, it is always spelled and pronounced correctly and few people my age use it, so I still have yet to share it with anyone.
My name is Meghan and I've never really loved it. I never thought it was either a very cool name or a very pretty/feminine name.
I hate the fact that there are so many spelling variations of my name... it's constantly misspelled.
I really hate when people pronounce it "Mag-an" (instead of "May-gan").Bleh, sounds so gross.
It's also a trendy 80's name rather than a classic.
My concerns about the name Connor (in our top two and my DH's fave) spring from the problems I've had with my name... multiple spelling variations, only started to get popular in the late 80's/early 90's, etc. *sigh*

My name is Anna. Yes, I like it because it has broad international appeal. Everywhere I have ever lived abroad (Spain, Brazil and Russia) and most places I have traveled to have this name in the same exact form. I also like that it doesn't sound "old" or "young." I've met women of all ages with my name.
However, it took me a while to embrace my name. As a child, I found it terribly boring and longed for a more exotic or interesting name.
This is my name too, and I always remember liking it when I was little because none of my friends have it! I also spell it was a C and people ALWAYS ask me Erica with a C or a K? I personally think its prettier with a C. From the time I was a baby my family called me Eck or Ecky..not really sure where it came from. But, I'm still called that by them and I still like my name.
Heather Renee. I liked it because it worked well with my ethnic last name and red hair. Never a doubt that I was Irish and Scottish decent
Until college I never had another Heather in my class even though it was a very popular 70's name. My mn is my aunt's name, which I like and it has a nice flow to it.
The only drawback to my name is that it isn't Catholic so I felt a little left out in Catholic school.

My fn is also Kristin! (mn Anne). This is the right way to spell it IMO. I've always loved it. There was only one other with my name growing up.
I'm a 1983 Caitlin. I liked my name just fine when I was younger, but I like it less and less every time a new spelling debuts in the top 1000. Enough, already.
To anyone who is thinking of naming a child Caitlin/Katelynn/Catelyn/Kaitlyn/Caytlinne/Katlyn/Caitlyn/Katelin/Catelynne/Katlin, etc.: be forewarned that no one will ever, ever, ever spell your child's name correctly. It will also be mispronounced with puzzling frequency, considering its popularity.

My name is Courtney and I love it! I realize it is a little 80's, but I was actually named after the military Camp Courtney in Okinawa, which is where my parents were stationed when they found out about me.
I also really like that there were never more than two or three in my school, and I never had a class with another Courtney. I'm the only one I know now

Middle Name: Anne
I always loved "Leigh" and have gone by it since I was pretty young. I think its very pretty even though most people think its a boy name. However, when your first name is Leigh and middle name is Anne, most people want to make your first name Leigh Anne. In my opinion, the combo of Leigh and Anne sounds a little nasel-y and whiny.

I really had to grow into liking my name. My FN is Cameo and my MN is Carlene.
I hated my FN for a long time because it was so different and no one ever needed my last name because my first name stood out so much! I also used to get really upset as a kid because I could never get any of that personalized junk that they have in the stores! As I have gotten older I have learned not to mind it as much. People generally pronouce in right so I am thankful for that! The only big downside I still have is that I hate to be called Cami/Cammy and I get that a lot!
My middle name was a combo from my mom (Carol) and my grandma. (Marlene) I have always liked that it had a meaning behind it!
My name is Chelsea and I like it a lot more now than I did when I was in school and everyone pronounced/spelled it wrong. There was a girl the year ahead of me whose name was spelled Chelsey and everyone thought my name was spelled the same way.. and they called me Chel-see-ah. ughhhhhh. But now that I'm older, I like that I don't know anyone else with my name.
My name is Pamela, which was one of the most popular names in my parents' generation. In fact, my dad chose my name because there was a beautiful/popular/cheerleader girl named Pamela in his grade in school, so I guess he associated the name with the type of daughter he hoped he might have.
I like having a name that's less popular among my generation. I've always liked the sound of it, especially the "ela" part. Since I was in kindergarten, if anyone called me "Pam" I hated it, because they were cutting off the most feminine part of the name. Then in middle school I had a teacher that went by Pam, and she was very masculine. That basically validated my feelings of hating "Just Pam". That is when I started immediately correcting people when they called me "Pam". I grew more and more confident about it, and sometimes was so adamant about it that I would not even respond to "Pam", because "that's not my name."
Over the years it has become so engrained in my friends' heads, that even they will correct new people when they call me Pam.
The other night I was watching the series premiere of a new show and one of the characters said "Pam MyLastname was found dead in a crackhouse." I just laughed it off and said, "Good thing my name's not Pam, or that would've been really akward!"
My name is Veronica. I HATED it as a child 1) because of my nickname (Ronnie) and 2) because I could never find crap with my name on it.
But sometime in high school, I started to like it.
And now I love it. I love that it's not popular (I didn't meet another Veronica my age until college), but it's easily pronounced. And I love that I can feel feminine and formal with it, but if I'm feeling playful, I can use Ronnie.

Yes, I like my name. I wish they would have spelled it like my parents wanted Ashleigh. I love that spelling better, it's not as common. oh well.
I love my name (Julia). I don't like that people are always calling me Julie. Sometimes I wish it was just a little bit rarer- there always seemed to be one other Julia floating around, and I hated having to be "Julia last initial" as a kid. I also don't like that it's three syllables with no common nickname (although I like when people go with Jules).
Because of that, I'm partial towards less common (but not way out there) names with nickname options!
Yes, I like my name (Laura). It's classic and traditional. I was always the only Laura in my class which I liked. I don't meet very many, but everyone knows how to spell it and pronounce it. I'm not a nickname person so I'm glad I never had a nickname. I think my parent's did a good job!
I don't like my middle name (Marie). My parent's picked it because it sounded good with my first name just like every other parent thought in the 80s. Most of my friend's middle names are Marie. It's so overused. I do think it's a pretty name, but not for a middle name.
