I've noticed that lately since DS has been spitting up more (about every three feedings or so), he sounds like he has phlegm in his throat or chest. He is a bit raspy when he breathes and sometimes sounds like he is growling when he's just trying to breathe or when he's cooing. Is this normal? I'll call my pedi if others don't share similar experiences, but I figured I'd ask here first.

Re: Phlegm / Mucus in throat?
First -- HEY! Haven't seen you in a while...hope you're doing well! Back running?
Second -- LO has a lot of crap in his sinuses it sounds like but I haven't heard anything in his throat. I talked to the pedi about the sinuses and he said it wasn't anything to worry about -- he's very snorty and sniffly -- just to keep my eye on it.
DD isn't normally a spitter upper...but she has twice in the past 12 hours. She has either allergies or a head cold, lots of mucous in her nose that I can get out with the aspirator...but once it's in her throat, no such luck. So far I've found having her sit in the bathroom while I create a steam room effect has really helped her, and staying on top of the nose.
She also sounding like this when she was about 3 weeks. I have a wheat sensitivity but had been cheating a lot due to nausea. Once I cut back on wheat her phlegmy noises stopped. They've just come back with the cold/allergies.
Hi TeamReed--yep, back to running, but I'm still only able to do 3 miles at my pre-pregnancy pace. So much for running a marathon anytime soon! I'm just glad I can get the baby to nap while I run. I've been mostly using a treadmill and for some reason he just loves the sound of the treadmill so it's worked out well! How about you--are you back to running?
Thanks for the advice ladies. I ended up calling the pedi and he recommended that we just come in to take a look just to be safe. Due to his age, they don't like to take any chances. I feel so stupid, I've been to the pedi twice now for unscheduled appointments. I'm not usually a worrier, but when google fails and none of my close friends with kids have any experience, I feel like I should head to the pedi's office.
