Or maybe a lot a bit. ![]()
So I am new on here, I guess I have been lurking around because my husband and I were thinking and hoping about a baby. Yesterday I took a test, and it came back positive, but I doubted it... so this morning I woke up and took another... and I have two positive tests. When I saw that plus sign the second time, my heart just started racing. My mind can't wrap itself around the idea that my husband and I are going to be parents. I can't believe it, but I feel like I haven't stopped smiling.
It's been one whirlwind of a week. On Monday I was offered a new job, which I am so happy to take... and then Tuesday I find out I'm pregnant. Could it be a better week?
My mind is thinking about when I should tell people, what I should be doing, etc... this is our first baby, and we have been married for a little over two years. But overall I'm just so stinkin excited. Since I can't really tell people yet, I thought I needed to say something to someone or else I'd burst... thanks for listening.
Any advice?
Re: Feeling a little bit shocked
Congrats - on the new job and the baby!
Call your obgyn, tell them you got a positive test and set up your first appt. Start taking prenatels if you aren't already (I take the Target brand - OTC is fine).
Grab a book(s) and read up on the dos and don'ts and enjoy!!!
ETA: when you tell is really a personal decision. We told close friends and family this past weekend after we had our first appt and saw a heartbeat. Some people tell right away, others wait. It's a personal preference.
