i just got my BFP this morning. i have only told my DH and my doctors office. In fact, I have told at least three person today that i was not pregnant. My first appointment is October 25 - I will tell my mother in law after that and maybe my mom before hand. but personally, i think it is early
I think It's too early, it is always better to wait till at least the 3 month just after you have gone threw the most delicate part of the pregnancy. Plus you can think of fun ways to surprise people ? I'm in week 6 and I'm dying also to tell my mother and the rest of the family, but I think I'll wait till I have a sonogram pic or something to show.
I just got BFP last night and this morning. I am still in shock this is our first month with unprotected sex and I thought we would have to try for a few months. It is my first and I don't think I will believe it until the doctor says it. I just want to tell people because I need advice, but I know that if I tell someone the whole family will find out and I want to be the one to tell everyone.
This is a very hard secret to keep I am totally with you! I hope I can make it to 10 weeks
I am almost 5 weeks, my parents know, DH of course, my sister knows, and 2 of my best friends know. I want to tell more people, but I am going to wait until after my first appt. I just told the people that I am closest to. I feel so much better that they know, now we can talk about it!
We waited all of 3 days before we told our parents. I especially wanted my mom to know because it is nice to have someone to check up on you and understand what you are going through. If something were to happen to the baby, I would want my parents there for added support during that tough time anyhow, so I say go for it and at least tell your parents.
We are waiting after my first u/s this week to tell close friends, only a few. The same thing goes for them, that if I were to miscarry, my close friends would be there too support me. The rest of our friends will wait until week 11 or 12.
We ended up telling our parents and siblings a couple days after we got a BFP. Now, my co-workers know because we're all close and I'm the 5th person (including the guys' wives) in the office expecting in a year and although I tried to keep it in, they know me far too well and could tell by my face!
We have had our first appointment, but still haven't told our friends. We asked our doctor what he thought, and he suggested waiting until the blood work was done at 10 weeks and that at that point is when the embryo converts into an actual fetus.
My DH and I basically said that we were ok with telling anyone that we'd also felt comfortable with telling if something went wrong. To us, that's family, my "office family" and very close friends. I'd want their support!
We haven't told anyone yet, and, honestly, it gets easier to keep the secret as time goes by. I've kind of forgotten about being pregnant, and it's just not on the front of my mind like it was right at the beginning.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do! And, congratulations!
