1st Trimester

Pregnancy Menu

So, how do you get your fix of nutrients each day? Is it really necissary to get all your servings of fruits, veggies and protein each day if you are taking a PNV? I am trying to eat healthy, but I feel like I am focusing too much on what "the books" say is healthy. I know as soon as M/S kicks in it won't be this easy! So, what does your daily diet look like?

  • Whatever fancies my palate that day! LOL!  I do try to get my servings of veggies and fruits each day.  However, some days a food I ate before repulses me the next day....so I just try to eat whatever I can and try to stay away from things that are way too fattening.  Other times I give in to my junk food cravings.  so far I've only gained 1lbs....

  • i found my staple...plain bagel and cream cheese. I've had this for breakfast everyday for 2 weeks and still love it in the morn.

I now crave fruits that are juicy. I can seriously eat a whole watermelon right now...that and a pineapple.

  • My m/s makes eating some things hard, but I usually try to force it down and hope for the best. I am currently chowing down on saltines and ginger ale and I feel the best I have all day. As long as you are taking your vitamins I think the general mantra is eat whatever you can and worry about getting everything in during the second tri, but I could be wrong about that.

  • I think at this stage we need to just eat whatever we can keep down and hope that our PNV are giving us enough of what we need. My doctor has me taking a prescription vitamin as well as 2 calcium vitamins a day. The only foods that excite me are junk foods (I go through a bag of gummy bears a day). I do however force myself to have fruit and yogurt for breakfast everyday with multi grain cheerios. My stomach's been ok with it so far!
  • I drink a v8 fusion drink in the morning, and a glass of v8 when I get home from work... plus the PNV.  I usually have some sort of veggie (snack:  carrots+hummus or a side of veggies at dinner)
