Girl: Eva (AY-vah) Annette (middle is mine and my mom's middle)
Boy: ?
** Owen Colby is cute! But don't worry, I won't steal it
Eva is pronounced Ee-va. If you want it pronounced Ay-va then spell it Ava.
Actually, Eva is the German spelling for it, and AY-vah is the German pronunciation... and we're German. Also, it's a family name, so I think I know how to say it. I also believe Eva Longoria Parker pronounces it the same way we do, so we're not the only ones.
Obviously, you can do whatever you want but unless you are living in Germany, I will have to agree with the others because your daughter will have to correct everyone on how to pronounce her name over and over again. In the US, no one pronounces it Ava Longoria.
We are German too and the father of a close family friend was called Jan (pronounced yahn) and their daughter was Marianne (prounounced MAR-ee-AN-a). Obviously, everyone thought he was a she and called him Jan and she always got called Mary-Anne in school, which she hated. After a lot of frustration, both changed the legal spellings of their names to John and Mariana. Just my two cents, but I understand your desire you incorporate your heritage.
"Aibhlin" is an Irish name meaning longed for and desired child.
How do you pronounce Aibhlin?
----
Boy: Zaine Elery (I like "Zane" better but I'm compromising for DH LoL)
Girl: Felicity Corinne or Felicity Jean-Anne
Aibhlin = Ave-leen
No one will ever pronounce it right, but since it would be a middle name, I'm okay with it. We'll just make sure the minister is prepped for her wedding.
