Jerimbato...I'm confessing...

I really love your girl babyname and I've never heard it before.  I love the name Kai for a boy, but I didn't realize it could be remotely a girl name!  The other girls here think you might not hate me if I propose it to dh.  But I'm asking you...pretty please!  Can I put Kaia on my list?

    Yes definitely. I'm glad to hear you like it! It's Scandinavian and means "pure", or Hawaiian and like Kai, means "ocean"

    It's pretty rare I think but the other day a mom called to register her baby for a storytime at the library where I work and the baby's name was Kaia. I almost blurted out that I was going to name my daughter that but didn't.

    Well, I love Kai because it's a Hawaiian name and my baby's got polynesian blood in her. If I spelled it Kaya it doesn't have the same feel to me - especially since there are no y's in the Hawaiian alphabet.  Sorry Rease!  I like it with the i!

    Some friends of mine named their son Kaio and call him Kai as a nickname.  So cute!
