Although the cost will vary significantly from location to location, I wanted to ask what everyone pays for their 2+ children on a monthly basis for childcare at a center.
Once my DS is born, my monthly daycare costs are increasing to $2400! That is more than our mortgage and about 60% of my take home pay....it still blows my mind.
TIA!
Re: 2+ Children - Daycare costs?
I live outside Boston, MA and we pay $324 a week for both of them (they go 4 days a week). It is a wonderful in home day care. We pay $45 a day for my older son, and my younger son gets a 20% discount so we pay $36 a day for him. That is VERY cheap for my area. I am not sure how we got so lucky to find such a great place that is also so cheap.
I had my older son in a center before we moved to the in home day care and it was going to cost us $575 a week (for 4 days) for 2 kids to go there.
Or a home daycare? A lot of times, if you can find someone you can trust, your child can get more attention and feel more comfortable at someone's home. I take care of 2 children at my homel, in addition to my own son, and each of them pays $750 a month.
I live by you and for 2 kids at an in home daycare, it will be $350 a week. Right now we pay $225 for my daughter. I am hoping to go part time next year because that is way too much to spend on daycare and I want to be home more. $2400 seems like alot for around here too.
It was a little over $500/wk.
After a couple of months, we ended up going with an aupair. It was less expensive, even including buying her a car, cell phone, food, gas, plane tickets, etc. I also really like how flexible she is.
Our center was 313.50/wk so about 1254/month, but they just increased their prices and now it'll be 1330.
We're in Baton Rouge, LA. That's about 60% of my salary too
