I'm planning to breastfeed/pump and have heard it's easiest to have some type of sleeping unit (crib, moses basket, etc) at the side of the bed since there will be so many middle of the night feedings. We have a high bed that stands probably 3 ft off the floor so the moses basket seems like I'd still have to roll out of bed. Anyone have a high bed in your room? If so, what baby bed are you using those first few weeks?

a moses basket is out for us b/c our dog would be all over the baby if the baby were in the basket on the floor. instead we're using a pack n play but it won't be in our bedroom, the baby will be in his own room right from the very beginning. newborn's breathing tends to be a little funky so if the baby were right there with us i think i'd always be freaking out that something is wrong with him, plus, my husband will be working on his thesis for his phd so the last thing he needs is a screaming baby in the same room as him.
if you're planning on keeping the baby in the room with you, i would think a co-sleeper or pnp would be handy.
