Cooper eats all finger foods. He eats a ton and doesn't seem to be picky. I'm stumped though with new ideas for protein. He eats cheese, beans, turkey meatballs, and chicken nuggets (yeah, I know..) - Oh and I have gotten him the gerber pasta pickups that have meat in them and he likes those. He can't handle pieces of real chicken or pork or anything yet... Too hard to gum that. So anyway, what are some other good ideas for protein? Any ideas?

Re: Protein Ideas?
Quinoa - it's like pasta but a grain. Super healthy. I also used to grind up chicken with potatos for Carson when he was about that age to make it easier to eat.
Tofu cubes (cam likes it sauteed in garlic oil too
, cut up black bean burgers, tuna fish, fish sticks
Ditto this. Both my kids love quinoa.
Also, we sometimes do smoothies for breakfast. If he can drink through a straw, you might try a smoothie with protein powder.
How do you feel about nut butter? Our pedi said the newest news regarding allergies is that there is no reason to wait on peanuts and other nuts. So there's that...
J loves scrambled eggs, tempeh, tofu, hummus.
*you* don't have to eat the tofu...
My Cooper loves fish, scrambled eggs, omelet, cheese sticks, baked beans, home made meatballs, cheese quesadillas, yoghurt, quiche/fritatta - hopefully your Cooper will love some of these too!
And fish is super easy to cook (and quick!) - we just pan fry it in light dusting flour & it tastes so good!
Do you worry about the mercury in tuna? I just found this site that calculates how much tuna you can safely eat, and it's just so little that's OK for a kid... Have you asked your ped about it? I wonder if it's really that bad or if this site overdoes it?

I dont worry about it too much. I make it mixed with mayo and shredded zucchini and carrots so that bulks it up... Ill bet she eats less than what the web site recommends (1/3 can per week). She usually just eats it a couple times a week and with crackers and stuff and I don't buy albacore. I always finish it off for her
Her dr was not concerned with it as she is pretty severely anemic and it has been helping that! Its up to you as to what you are comfortable with though.
