cleaning medela swing?

is the yellow part supposed to come off the connector part (the part that attaches to the bottle) for cleaning?  i've noticed some gunk in there i can't get out.  i tried boiling but it's still there.  i don't want to force the yellow part off if it's not supposed to come off....wouldn't want to break the think.  anyone have any ideas?

    NEVERMIND!  i just picked it up out of the boiling water with tongs and the yellow part fell off on it's own!  i tried pulling it off numerous times and it seemed stuck on there pretty good.  ahhhhh...nevermind!
