Trouble TTC

Forced break cycle :(

After the BFN yesterday and my cramps still here, I know AF is around the corner. I had my thyroid level checked again last week and it jumped up to 4.86 from 2.6 in 2 weeks, so the RE is forcing us to take a break until it lowers. To make matters worse, I have come down with a YI. When it rains, it pours. The only good thing? My dad is getting discharged today. I was really hoping to get a BFP as I think that would have helped him in his recovery... or at least make him feel a bit better and know that there is something for him to live for/look forward to.

For those who were on forced breaks, how did you deal with them andnot get depressed or go crazy?

Re: Forced break cycle :(

  • I was on a 2 month forced break due to a large cyst and honestly I wanted to go crazy in the beginning, but reading and enjoying the Summer, relaxing and distracting myself, really helped and now I am totally refreshed, less bitter and more hopeful. Sometimes forced breaks are helpful :)  GL to you.

DH and I were on a break this last cycle, but we couldn't have sex at all. Honestly though, With his surgeries and follow-ups, we were so busy that it flew by. Sorry I'm not much help, but I hope it goes quick for you and things get straightened out soon!

  • I'm sorry, Mo.  I hope your levels lower soon.  Good news about your dad, though, hopefully that helps a bit.

I had to take a cycle off and I honestly really enjoyed it.  When you've been trying for a while, it's nice to have a break.

  • Ugh I'm so sorry.  I know how frustrating that must be. I hope that this month is more pleasant and goes more quickly than you think it will... enjoy the pressure and appointment free time!
  • I had a forced break for most of this summer due to bad vacation timing. It was hard. I did get a little down, but I tried to keep myself busy. I hope it goes by quickly for you!

  • I went on a diet and dropped 23lbs. Then with the injects I gained back 15. But none the less I was happy at the time! I'm so sorry I know how much breaks suck!! GL hon!
  • I"m so sorry. Forced breaks are no fun. The only advice I have to try to make them fly by is to plan things to look forward to, even if it is just a pedicure on a weekend, or getting out with friends. Having those little things to look forward to helps. ((hugs))

  • Thanks ladies Smile I think I am going to use this time to try to lose some weight. Since my thyroid really went haywire last year, I have gained more weight than I would like to admit.
